VOIP Security, I got hacked

Postby Mudd » Mon Oct 16, 2017 8:56 pm

If I hire a developer to program a server with Asterisk and Vicidial. Who is responsible for security and protecting the server. Should the Developer lock down the security for the default installation or if I get hacked is it my fault for not hiring a full time Support person?

The person paying for the server is the one ultimately responsible. We will typically enable basic security, but not the advanced security features unless the client asks us to. Other consultants will often do similar things.
