manual dial lead question

Postby dreedy » Wed Mar 07, 2018 1:01 pm

Hello everyone,

Im trying to figure out the lead break down of the manual dial. Our dialer has a manual dial list of 999 and i am about to break it apart for each campaign so that we can manage the manual dial leads my thinking is to have a 900 series list id for each campaigns manual dial. When i went through testing i noticed that my cell phone had several lead_id associated to it. I can not seem to find a pattern to why it is making a new lead_id at random points. Another item i am curious about is that i tried making test call and the latest lead was updated but the list_id did not shift to the designated manual list id location for the campaign in this case it was list id 996.

Outbound campaigns each have their own assigned manual list, but there is a default. Generally it's normal to change to a different list ID for each campaign unless you need them to be all in the same list for some reason.

When you manually dial from within a campaign, the lead search method will determine whether the system grabs an existing lead or creates a new one. If it creates a new one, it will be in the manual dial list, if it grabs an existing one it will leave that lead in the list it's already in.

Inbound calls are similar, but have "In-Group Call Handle Method:" which determines whether a new lead should *always* be created for an inboud call or some other method of lead search.

Is the system default outbound list id usually 999 or 998 or did i miss something in my search?

Yep that usually is set to 999 in all the campaigns that i have seen in our dialer. That is the setting that i am think of changing to a per campaign would have a separate 900 series number in it.

Exactly. It's normal to have a different one for each campaign. It's not that there's a "system default" so much as there is a default number pre-filled into the "new campaign" page. You're not expected to leave that value there, you're expected to change it. Just like the hopper level and dial ratio.

But there's no rule that says campaigns can't share any more than there is a rule that says they shouldn't. Entirely up to you, the system doesn't care. It's all about how you intend to use those leads. If reporting is an issue, if this list will be dialed out and/or moved to other campaigns at some point ... we usually recommend setting a different ID for each campaign just because it'll be easier to manage the data segregated already than it would be to manuall segregate it later. Combining data is easy (Just put all of them in the same campaign for outbound). But separating them is not so easy.

Thanks good to know I am thinking in the right direction. Im still trying to figure out the logic behind the lead id's (62616) I have 257 test calls with the same lead id and then for no reason i can figure out it changes the lead id to an much higher and current lead id (1292636). The campaigns that the number has dialed from are the same through the process.
