Potential Release Date for Vicibox 8.0.X

Postby vkad » Wed Apr 25, 2018 6:19 pm

Hi,

How are you?

Does Asterisk 13.20 have answering machine detection enabled. I was using the 13.19 sandboxed version before and it worked fine with AMD.

Also, is it possible to update to PHP 7 (only one minor issue as the report screen doesn't show the full dialer name in the servers list). Additionally, something like an opcache viewer to view the opcache status would be great.

Will you be including viciphone as the default webphone as it is fully working now and something like letsencrypt provisioning support from the webgui like Issabel call center software.

Do you have any timeframe on the latest iso build?

Also, if I want to contribute to the project by coding, how can I do that?

Kumba recently reported v8.1 as imminent, but this is hardly something we can expect or hold him to ... unless they are not busy. We can remain hopeful along with later asterisk, Viciphone, etc.

As for Apache and PHP 7: If you tried it and had an error, post the error if you were using the latest SVN as of the moment you tested it. That's often appreciated. Even better is if you find the fix, but posting the actual logged error is very helpful.

Posting code updates is done on the Vicidial Tracker. If you post a solution in the tracker, post the tracker link here in your related forum post as well, that way if the Vicidial Group gets curious while reading the forum post, they may jump directly (and easily) to the tracker post and "fix it" if it's something they are presently working on.

Posting a DIFF/PATCH against the appropriate file of the latest SVN that fixes a repeatable bug is a cool thing. The easier and more coherent the post, the more likely it will (quickly) get included.

Welcome to the party. 8-)

ViciBox v.8.1 will have Asterisk 13.20.0 by default. There are no plans to change PHP to PHP7 at this time.

The design goals of ViciBox v.8.1 are as follows:
- Default VoIP Black list integration with the firewall to prevent a good chunk of known SIP attackers
- ViciDial integrated white/dynamic IP access control lists across the entire cluster
- ViciPhone (WebRTC) setup with Let's Encrypt SSL certificates (Needs FQDN)
- General OS hardening and tuning (better opcache tuning, PCI Web-DSS, etc)
- New documentation

Currently I'm in the weeds with clients but the big pieces left to do are as follows:
- Finish dynamic firewall pieces
- Lets Encrypt installer (haven't even started it)
- Documentation (Blah)

AMD has always been built in. Not sure how you tested it.

8.1 sounds like a major upgrade, with asterisk 13 and viciphone with Let's Encrypt SSL certs.

Thank you for the work you do!
