Cluster System Requirements

Postby hansg » Fri Apr 27, 2018 9:55 am

Hi,

I have just finished setting up my first ever cluster installation using vicibox8 installer. I have just used basic servers to test and make sure I knew what I was doing and everything seems to work! :)

1x Database - Single Core CPU, 1GB RAM, 40GB Hard Drive.
1x Archive - Single Core CPU, 1GB RAM, 40GB Hard Drive
1x Web Server - Single Core CPU, 1GB RAM, 40GB Hard Drive
1x Telpehony - Single Core CPU, 1GB RAM, 40GB Hard Drive

My question is...

If I want my cluster to be capable of holding around 150 agents, what kind of server specs should I be looking at. I am using cloud servers for this setup so I can scale them to whatever I need.

Also, do I need to configure the Archive server? Everything is installed and I can place calls but I'm not sure what my archive server is doing exactly.

This topic has been covered several times here on the forums. I would suggest a MegaRAID RAID card with enterprise-level hard-drives for your database server, as well as much more RAM for your database server. Then you will need to add a few more telco servers to be able to get up to 150 concurrent agents.

Pretty much the manual says that... on a fair usage and being very conservative of not risking on downtime

This is what i can see on the manual... use common sense and play safe:

100 Agent Outbound 4:1
• Standard Database specification
• One Web server – Standard or Optional specification
• Four Telephony servers - Standard or Optional specification

200 Agent Outbound 4:1
• 300-agent Database specification
• Two Web servers – Standard or Optional specification
• Eight Telephony servers - Standard or Optional specification
• Optionally one Web server to act as login load balancer and administration – Standard or
Optional Specifications
