Call Menu - Strange Error

Call menu is giving me this strange error and no matter what option that I choose just hangs up call.

This is not likely. If your value in "Admin->Servers->[choose server]->Asterisk Version" does not match the version returned from:

Code: Select all

asterisk -V

You may have found your problem. The 5.0.3 installer puts the wrong value in that field. It is more likely something like: 1.8.26.1-vici

Reboot after making the change and be sure Rebuild conf files has occurred before the reboot (so startup occurs with proper conf files in place already).

Hi there!

Sorry to bump this old thread but i'm getting this same error and in my case the asterisk version filled out under servers is the actual one. What else could be causing this? Found 3 hits on Google

When i dial a DID that goes to an ingroup it works fine but when i point the DID to an Callmenu i get:

WARNING[2994][C-00000004]: pbx.c:11760 pbx_builtin_background: Background requires an argument (filename)

And then i get disconnected.

update: Turns out the menu prompt field cannot be empty, that's when you get this error as well. I used sip-silence to get past it.

Yes, however still struggling to get my call menu setup to play a different greeting depending on time of day.
