improved answering machine detection

What options are available & tested for improved answering machine detection? We tried the Sangoma Lyra software, but decided it wasn't worth the cost at the time. I was looking to reevaluate the Sangoma Lyra software, but see it is no longer being licensed. What else is available? Tested?

We are working with a company on another paid-for solution, but we're still developing an integration with it.
