vicibox express 8.1

It seems the new vicibox 8.1 Installation process take longer to than other version, system stuck on this screen for more than 10 minutes and counting

Good post. But don't use express. Use standard. Express isn't as well-vetted (although it's cool of you to help out!)

Thanks for your reply, William I has been using express all the time with no issues, but it seems there is something wrong here, I will test an older version on the same version and let you know

If you've been using Vicidial long enough to make that statement ... you should not be using express. lol. But those who use it after you find the bug will appreciate your efforts in troubleshooting the Express version.

Thanks Williman, How do you use the standard version you say. Following the official vicibox installation guide I just see the cluster installation and vicibox express installation

Instead of this (Page 11):

Type 'vicibox-express' and press ENTER.

Do this (Page 12):

2. Type 'vicibox-install' and press ENTER. The installer will start and prompt you for all further
configuration information.

That quiz ("prompted installer") is heavily-vetted. It allows detailed control of what this server's roles are. I see this is in a section called "cluster", but you'll note that it's just "vicibox-install" vs "express-install". It's the PDF that wants to call it "cluster" so those building a cluster will be drawn to it. They should probably rename the sections to "Standard/Enterprise" and "For Dummies (IE: Express)"

AND more users over this bridge. Very well vetted. Kumba maintains the express for ... those who have NO idea what's going on. But I'm pretty sure he does that after the Standard has been locked down pretty well. I'm sure he wouldn't mind someone assisting with a few troubleshooting installs to weed out any bugs, though. Good way to contribute to the project. Especially if you find the solution to them!
