1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method (7.X.X?) and vicidial version with build (VERSION: 2.X-XXXx ... BUILD: #####-####).

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "manual/from scratch" you must post your operating system with version (and the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system) plus a link to the installation instructions you used. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) This question is about asterisk and not Vicidial or Vicibox. The instructions to install odbc aren't different because it's a vicidial/vicibox server. It's an asterisk module.

4) Most of the time, we don't use odbc anyway, we use agi scripting which invokes perl or php and those already have DB built-in. Thus I would suggest you share your reason for the need as you may find out you are overcomplicating your issue.

Just sayin ... 8-)

Happy Hunting!

Hi William

Thank you for your response.

Configuration as listed below. Hope I have mentioned the required information.

ViciBox 8.1.2 from .iso | ViciDial SVN v.2.14-689a build 180922-0958 revision 3035| Asterisk v.13.21.1-vici| Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | | Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G630 @ 2.70GHz

We use remote agents and with a simple dialplan and are able to login, logout and help them dispose call. We have been using instructions on this http://asteriskdocs.org/en/3rd_Edition/asterisk-book-html-chunk/installing_configuring_odbc.html link to install odbc on vicidial and centos.

somehow, instructions for SUSE is not available here. thereby looking for instructions to install on SUSE. thank you.

That would be something for an OpenSuSE forum, entirely unrelated to Vicidial itself. The OpenSuSE community is far larger than the Vicidial community. Not sure about the ODBC driver community. But we haven't had an ODBC installation in many years. If you Require CentOS (because ODBC may already exist for asterisk on CentOS?) you can use the Goautodial installer for Vicidial. It installs an older version, and a different web interface. BUT it also installs the stock interface (just doesn't provide obvious links to it!) and can be upgraded to the latest Vicidial if you want to.
