2) There are posts on this forum already for downgrading asterisk. There are also (If I'm not mistaken) some posts in the ViciPhone project in GitHub related to changing the version of asterisk. Won't be the right version, but it will be related: You may have to extrapolate a bit.

3) WHY do you think you need asterisk 1.8? I have tried to guess a reason, and I'm just plain drawing a blank. lol

Can you please share the string, where we can downgrade from asterisk 13 to 1.8?

Reason is that we are having lot of issues with carrears we use because of nating, our server is behind nat and asterisk 13.21 is really complicated in resolving nat issues but asterisk 1.4 is very compatible with that.
We get lot of ringing calls, no audio calls with asterisk 13 when our server is behind nat but with asterisk 1.8 is works very smoothly.

Can you please share a string or link which indicates how to downgrade from asterisk 13.21 to asterisk 1.8, we are using Vicibox 8.1.2?
Or if we can do a fresh install of vicibox 8.1.2 with asterisk 1.8?

Asterisk 13 has no more or less problems with nat than asterisk 1.4. So you're likely headed down a blind tunnel and going to find yourself right back where you started. Just sayin' ...

These are not my examples to "share", they are already visible on this forum and others. But i don't recommend it. If you are prepared to reinstall, and want 1.8, just reinstall with Vicibox 7.0.4 or 6.0.4 instead. Those .iso installers (and others) are available at:

Note that any version of the Vicibox installer will still install the Latest version of Vicidial. But older versions will have an older OS and other packages, including asterisk. The installer's job is ONLY to provide the "environment" for Vicidial to run. So old installers still work just fine. That's also why upgrades continue to work even if the Asterisk version is old.

Upgrading a Vicidial install does not involve changing the asterisk version. So if someone installed Vicibox 6.0.4 months ago, and they upgrade, the Asterisk version will remain unaffected. All that gets upgraded is the Vicidial Scripts and the DB structure.

Should I download 6.0.4 or preloaded 6.0.4, which one is better and easy to install?

Never Use Preload.

Always Use Standard.

Standard is thoroughly tested. Preload is for simpletons and is not always up to par as it's not as well-used as the Standard. Good question, though.

Can you guide using vicibox 8.1.2 why there is an issue with outbound calls there is no audio on calls, answering machine deduction doesn't works proper on other side both things works very well on goautodial 3.3?

We are using in house server and we don't use it remotely at all, our server is being router so when we dial on most of calls there is no audio, codec g729 is installed properly even when we use g711 same thing happens, firewall is disabled too?

Any guesses, vicibox 8.1.2?

But when we use goautodial 3.3 there is no issue on that at all??

you can't "disable the firewall" when you are using a router. The router IS the firewall, by definition.

Be sure the externip= value in /etc/asterisk/sip.conf represents your public IP address. Not sure what your public IP is for the Vicidial server?

Through the router: Forward ports UDP 5060 and UDP range 10000-25000 to the server through the router. This should get your audio.

What would be the service port and internal port that I have to put in router???

UDP 5060 and UDP range 10000-25000

specific terminology varies from router to router (there are no "standards"). These ports from the public IP should be forwarded to the vicidial server's internal IP. How you get there will be based on the engineer that made the menu for managing your router. But I'd be willing to be there's a tutorial on YouTube for your router showing how to forward a port and hopefully also for a "port range".

any references to other ports are irrelevent to this goal, but may (or may not) be relevent to the engineer who wrote that software if for no other reason than to confuse lay-people and cause more support money to come to that freakin' engineer's company. lol
