Naive question: why inbound calls table named 'closer' ?

Postby vermorel » Sat Sep 22, 2007 8:02 am

Inbound calls are logs into the table vicidial_closer_log. I am a bit confused with the term "closer". Could someone here give me a line of explanation concerning the meaning of this term in call center context?

Thanks in advance,
Joannès

This is because all inbound calls go to agents logged into CLOSER-type campaigns. It is probably not the best word for it, but that is how VICIDIAL evolved to take inbound when it was added as a feature. Also, there was already an inbound calls log table that is used for other purposes.
