time synchronization error & 127.0.0.1 unable to authenticat

Postby sue136 » Thu Jan 30, 2020 9:41 pm

I have done a fresh install of Vicibox 9.0.1 ISO server on a local computer withOUT doing the "zypper up -y " command.

The Vicidial GUI admin area gives the following additional information on the installation:

Version: 2.14-735a
Build: 200127-1620

Asterisk 13.27.1-vici

Everything appeared to install correctly, but when I try to log on as an agent I keep getting errors --

"There is a time synchronization problem with your system, please tell your system administrator."

It acts like I am connected, but it does not allow me to make an outgoing call. It keeps popping up the time synchronization error.

I did a time sync on the agent computer and the Vicidial server does have settings to sync on boot. I have tried rebooting the Vicidial server several times and it does not help.

When I look at "asterisk -vvvvvvr" on the server there are messages coming in that "Connect attempt from '127.0.01' unable to authenticate" intermixed with Manager sendcron logging on and off messages:

[Jan 30 19:28:01] == Manager 'sendcron' logged on from 127.0.0.1
[Jan 30 19:28:01] == Manager 'sendcron' logged on from 127.0.0.1
[Jan 30 19:28:01] == Manager 'sendcron' logged off from 127.0.0.1
[Jan 30 19:28:05] == Connect attempt from '127.0.0.1' unable to authenticate
[Jan 30 19:28:06] == Manager 'sendcron' logged on from 127.0.0.1
[Jan 30 19:28:06] == Manager 'sendcron' logged off from 127.0.0.1
[Jan 30 19:28:11] == Manager 'sendcron' logged off from 127.0.0.1

I am not sure if these errors are related.

When I searched the forum I did not find anything that helped me.

I would appreciate any other troubleshooting that I can do or solutions for how to fix these issues.

I saw this post - viewtopic.php?f=8&t=39760 that had some similar issues.

When I go in the GUI admin - Servers it is showing the wrong version for Asterisk. It is showing 1.4.21.2 instead of version 13.27.1-vici and it is showing the wrong time zone (-5 instead of -7 that I set during the installation). When I tried correcting these fields, it corrected the issue of the "Connect attempt from '127.0.0.1' unable to authenticate and it lets me connect using the agent login and I do not get the time sync errors. But when I try to make a call it does not go through.

About a month ago I installed Vicibox 9.0.1 ISO on a local computer with a 320GB hard drive withOUT doing the "zypper up -y" command and everything is working properly.

The hard drive I used a month ago was an older drive and I purchased a new 1 TB hard drive and re-installed Vicibox 9.0.1 using the same CD again withOUT doing the "zypper up -y" command. but This time I am having some problems and I cannot figure out why it is not working for me this time.

I do not know what would be different from the installation I did on a different hard drive (but the same type of laptop computer) where now the Asterisk versions do not seem to match in all the settings before making other changes. I did not have to do those things on the first installation on the smaller hard drive.

I would appreciate any other troubleshooting that I can do or solutions for how to fix these issues.

Please provide asterisk CLI output from a single call attempt. Also provide your methodology for "try to make a call". Direct from a soft phone? Manual dial in an agent screen? Autodial from a campaign?

Perhaps you could also provide your Carrier's Dialplan Entry and/or any other relevant configuration options.

I received some assistance from a contractor that I found.

I re-installed Vicibox 9.0.1 but this time I used the DHCP IP address information (instead of setting a static IP address and network info) before I ran the "vicibox-express" installation and I did not have the mismatching Asterisk information.

Then after the installation and setting up the basic configuration in the Gui and verifying it had the correct Asterisk, I changed to a static IP address and set up the network using the "yast lan" command. Then I ran the "/usr/share/astguiclient/ADMIN_update_server_ip.pl" to update the IP address in the database and restarted the server.

The problem I was having making calls with my VOIP carrier was because it had entered in my public external IP address in the "External Server IP" field in the Gui Admin - Servers in the settings for my server. I had to delete that IP entry out and make it blank. Then I also had to go into the /etc/asterisk/sip.conf file and change the "externip = " field to the gateway IP address of my internal network instead of my public IP address from my provider. Then restarted the server. Then I was able to successfully make a call using the soft phone when logged in as Agent user.

Or maybe all you had to do was change the externip value. Guess we'll never know.

Confirm all asterisk versions are correct: /etc/astguiclient.conf should have "13.X" (not 13) or whatever the present version is AS OFFERED during install.pl. Exactly. Also confirm Admin->Servers->Asterisk Version matches.
