Question about safe_asterisk command

Postby dhijrwn » Mon Apr 06, 2020 2:01 pm

Hello guys,

I want to ask about the safe_asterisk command. It says that when asterisk crashes then it will try to restart it. By running the command safe_asterisk will it automatically run this? How can I simulate a crash? So I'll know the command is working.

Is there any alternative? I want my asterisk server up and running all the time. Thank you.

In more recent versions of VICIdial we already have an auto-restart option for Asterisk(look at the server modify screen). I would not recommend using "safe_asterisk".

Thank you.
I just enabled the auto restart asterisk to Y.
is this setting has a logfile? The setting said that it will check it every minute.
Where can I see the settings this file?

There are no settings for that file, it will check Asterisk is up once a minute and if it has to restart Asterisk it will log that to the Admin Change Log.
