reinstall vicibox 8.1 not installing all software

I am trying to reinstall vicibox 8.1 on a dialer which has failed. I go thru the os-install and vicibox-install. when this is all completed nd rebooted i try to do a crontab -e and find an empty crontab. i try ntpq -p and get no associated id's.
i have used this same cd in december to build 4 servers.

any ideas ????

I have a 4 machine cluster
Database/ WEB / Dialer machine dual: quad core Xeon 2.67 GHz 48GB mem / Dialer dual: dual core Xeon 2.80 GHz 8GB mem / dialer core i5 3.0 GHz 4GB mem / dialer core-2 duo 2.93GHz 3GB mem / soon archive I3 3.1 GHz 10GB mem
.. all machines except archive have 2 nic's.. one internal and 1 external for traffic.

Vicibox is X.X.X not X.X.

During installation there's a log created. Read through it and see where it dies or where the first error occurs.

If the machine died ... is it possible that the problem has not yet been solved?

can you tell me where the log is created, journalctl of a std file name?

the machine did not fail physically. this was one of the 2 servers that i referred to in my post: press 1 campaign not playing message by perlmutr » Wed Apr 08, 2020 10:01 am in Support.

since i received no suggestions and had no other ideas i thought I would just reinstall and see if that resolved the problem. unfortunately it just made things worse

if you reinstall, you must:

* use the reinstall procedure from the vicibox installation manual
* delete all prior database entries related to the server being reinstalled (to avoid "record already exists" crash during installation). This relates to admin->servers entries, but not just that table. Search the DB for that IP address
* use a different IP address during the next installation to avoid collision with previous install
