xlite + vicidial

so i set up vicidail on one pc my server


then my laptop uses x lite to access my server and pull calls up
will x lite run in the back ground as i want it to be on a predictive dialer from a database of numbers and to be only able to see the script and with out the use of my agents having to manually type in numbers

also what will be better to put vicidial on ubuntu server or ubuntu desktop will it matter if its on the desktop as on the server its txt based and im a bit of a newbie

Ubuntu server and desktop are the same thing but desktop has a lot more packages installed on it to help with the visualization and user interface.

I use and would strongly suggest using server because there is no need for desktop (you have to do everything in console anyways) and it just adds clutter and room for conflict.
