Slow Web Interface

Postby realskinner » Wed Jul 19, 2023 2:33 pm

Hello Everyone,

When we have around 40 to 50 people with around 30 to 40 concurrent calls including calls waiting our agent web interface becomes unresponsive or slow.

Our current clustered setup

DB Server
Intel Xeon E-2278G 16 x 5.0GHz
32G RAM

During the issue
Available RAM: 29G
LOAD: 40 - 2%

Web Server
Intel Xeon E-2278G 16 x 5.0GHz
16G RAM

During the issue
Available RAM: 13G
Load: 208 - 14%

Asterisk Server 1
Intel Xeon E-2236 12 x 4.8GHz
32G RAM

During the issue
Available RAM: 29G
Load: 79 - 7%

Asterisk Server 2
Intel Xeon E-2236 12 x 4.8GHz
32G RAM

During the issue
Available RAM: 29G
Load: 164 - 13%

Vicidial
VERSION: 2.14-886a
BUILD: 230523-0832

Asterisk
13.38.3

Installed by callcentertech.net, and I think using their installation script. I already reached out to them and they're looking into it but so far no feedback yet, and I am hoping someone here has same issue and can share an idea on how to overcome this issue.

Most likely the DB hardware or configuration is the bottleneck, that's usually what we find when similar setups have contacted us with issues of slow loading web pages.

What drives/RAID card are you using on your DB server?

Do you regularly archive your log tables, and if so, how far back?

How many leads in your system, and how many in the active lists in your campaigns?

Have the /etc/my.cnf settings been customized to the system?

Thanks for the information, mflorell.

I think we figure out the issue. It's nothing related to the hardware or database but to the limited Apache concurrent connection. We adjusted our mpm_prefork configuration and looks like we are now OK. We got the idea from this article https://ubiq.co/tech-blog/increase-max- ... ns-apache/.

Our peak days are usually from Monday through Wednesday, so will see next week. But so far we are hitting 46 people online with no issues, usually at 40 users we begin to experience a very slow web interface.

Apache config is usually in our 2nd round of questions :)

We don't usually have to get to that level because most of our clients use VICIbox and VICIbox will automatically raise the Apache settings for dedicated web server installs.
