app_confbridge not loading

Hi All

Using Vicibox v.10.0.2 - Kernel 5.3.18-57-default
Asterisk 16.17.0-vici
Checked out revision 3753

initially i was using v.10.0.2 with Asterisk 13 with meetme and was working correctly.

when i try to load the app_confbridge.so i get the following error

i checked line 40 and its identical to the documentation

i tried changing line 40 to =no but i get the same error.

May I ask, did you reload your config about making the change? It looks to be good from what you have posted.

config reload confbridge_vicidial.conf

Give that a whirl and just try to reload the module. Hopefully it works.

The hear_own_join_sound was not merged into Asterisk 16 till Asterisk 16.26

You need to install the OS updates.

Hmm if you followed ask the steps correctly it should work, I tested it on 16.17. join my Skype chat and either myself or one of the other 200 guys in there should be able to help you get it working

The asterisk-16.17.0-vici.tar.gz file was uploaded on 2021-04-07 11:33 to download.vicidial.com. I did not begin working on ConfBridge till around 2022-06-22. I added the "hear_own_join_sound" option to Asterisk while working on it. The Asterisk devs did not get it merged till Asterisk 16.26.0. While you can get ConfBridge support to work with the 16.17.0 you have to comment out the "hear_own_join_sound" option to get it to load. Without this option though the customer will hear the join sound when they join the conference. With this option the customer will not hear it which is one of the advantages over using MeetMe so it is in your best interest to go with a version that includes this.

The correct way to install Asterisk 16 on Vicibox 10 would be to run the vicibox-ast16 command during setup which changes the Asterisk repos being used from Asterisk 13 to Asterisk 16. That will install a version of Asterisk that includes the hear_own_join_sound. The better option would be to just install Vicibox 11 on your server.

Yeah the customer hearing that sound is not going to go down well at all. I "think" I tested on a patched version of 16.17 but it was a year ago and I've slept since then lol and forgotten stuff...but yeah, if the patch didn't appear until 16.27 then yeah...need that version. Although I may have obtained a BETA tarball or just simply got my versions mixed up. Cheers for sorting guys.

Hey all.. i think it was the way i upgraded from asterisk 13 to 16. i started over and did vicibox-ast16 and everything else went smooth from there.
