IVR in Inbound calls

Postby vlk » Mon Dec 03, 2007 11:08 am

Hello again,

we're setting up an INBOUND campaign and we have the need of announcing to the customer the user code of the operator.

What is the best way of doing it?

Do we have to tamper with the agi-VDADcloser_inboundCIDlookup.agi script or just set up a different agi-VDADtransferSOMETHING.agi?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't heard of that option before, sounds interesting.

This feature does not exist, but should be possible to add it to the code as an option within the new agi-VDAD_ALL_inbound.agi script that is part of the new 2.0.4 release. The 13 old closer agi scripts have all been depricated and combined into a single script with flags to indicate options.

In the new code there is an option to play a message to the agent just before the call goes to them, and something could be inserted at that time on the customer side to play the agent ID to the customer.

I'd suggest something more customizable. Maybe if the message to play was passed as an extension or as the name of an external script to be included at runtime....

Anyway we've just finished setting up a production environment with 2.0.3 release. It will take some time to upgrade to 2.0.4. Can you suggest us where look to add this feature in 2.0.3?

We're looking at agi-VDADcloser_inboundCIDlookup.agi (which is the script we activate for incoming calls in our extension.conf) and plan to add a few lines before SET CONTEXT agi directive.

Also we would like to thank you for this great work. This project is huge. Do you think we can get involved in any way?

Yes, the CIDlookup script would be a place to start with the 2.0.3 version.

As for how to help with the project, helping on the Forums is always good, as well as adding your code back to the project.
