Activating Answering Machine Detection

Postby caspar » Thu Apr 12, 2007 10:01 am

I have installed the app_amd.so in Asterisk 1.2.17 and configured the dial plan as in the SCRATCH_INSTALL.txt with the AMD entries. How do I active the Answering Machine Detection in VICIDIAL with predictive dialing or is this done automatically?

How can I test this?

If you have perfectly followed scratch install then you just need to open your campaign and set default VDAD extension from 8365 to 8369 . Then you can check asterisk cli to make sure amd is being called .

Aster1 has suggested the correct method but idle time increases with this selection made

Therefore keep a track on idle time.
Thanks

chander.prakash, what is the reason for the increase in idle time? Is it simply because answering machines are detected and therefore not passed on to an agent or is there another reason?

i guess it delays because it takes 5 sec for testing
remember

exten => 8369,2,AMD(3500|1500|300|5000|120|50|5|256)

But for me the problem is even after following all steps i can not see call to amd in my asterisk cli.
i have changes that VDAD extention to 8369 still no result.

And my asterisk cli is:
