Hello,
I have
Dell Power Edge 2950 Rack with dual Processor 4 GB Ram ,
73GB x 3 SAS and 146 GB x 2 SAS on Raid
And i need to install vicidial on the same, and want to stick with slackware as OS.
But i suppose slackware 10.2, does not support SAS Drives, as tried it few times, any idea which version of slackware should be supporting this. and in case i go in for slackware 12.0, is it compatible to vicidial 2.0.4, has anyone tested this.
Please give your vaulable suggestions...

I have several systems up and running with Slackware 12 and VICIDIAL 2.0.4. It was actually faster and easier to get running than it was with Slackware 10.2.

Hello
Does having an OS with 64 bit libraries , on a xeon server, rather than a 32 bit OS like slack , make any discernible difference in performance? ( for running vicidial of course.)

For some things it does. I have installed on both and didn't notice much difference, but others I have talked to swear by 64-bit Linux.
