Server upgrade and no joy

Ok I have been using VicidialNow on an old p4 and after a few normal setting issues the program works great, (you guys did a fantastic job) but my problem is that the p4's load average jumps to 2 or so when i have all my guys loged on. So I am upgrading to a HP DL580 Quad core, with 8gb of ram and 4 18.2 gig hard drives 15k, in raid 10. Ok so maybe a little overkill but fun. Everything loads using the vicidialnow 1.01 cd,

1. After login i don't get the ip screen etc.
2. if i do asterisk -r i get nothing
3. iftop i get nothing
4. top works though shows all 8 cores etc.
5. ipconfig i get nothing.

Any suggestions.
