Hi,
How can I avoid this message ' too many connections in mysql' in my dbase server, my setup is 2 asteriskpbx and 1 mysql+web servers. when I increase the max connection in my my.cnf the system load of my dbase server was very high so I put it back to the default settings. Is thier anyone encounter this kind of problem

you need to set the max connections higher and get more RAM or a faster machine for your Database. Also tweaking other my.cnf settings can help with MySQL performance.
What are the Database server specifications?

is this a single core CPU?
what was the loadavg up to when you set the max connections higher?
how many agents do you have across this system?

Nope it is separated with the asterisk server and the total agents is about 55. When I set the max connections to 150 the load goes 12.5

You need a better database server for 55 agents. a single core Xeon 1.6GHz is very old technology. You should go for a quad core at least, and the more RAM the better.

Why don't you tell us what kind of disks you have ?
Try to enable dma for your IDE disks.

You should get a Quad core system with as much RAM as you can get and a caching RAID controller.
If you are interested we do offer hardware that is proven to withstand the load Vicidial produces. Please contact sales staff at 1-888-894-VICI (8424).

get at least 8GB of DDR2 RAM, and an intel quadcore 2.4 GHZ, western digital raptor 160GB SATA 10,000 RPM HDD or SCSI hard drive if you have the budget
