Wish I could, but we did not create VICIDIALnow and I have never seen that error show up before. What kind of hard drives are you using?

Have you tried this in another machine?

I faced the same problem and eventually i had to set acpi=off as there seems to be some problem with vicidialnow and some motherbaords.

Try appending the following to the boot option:

all-ide-generic irqpoll nolapic noapic

Looks like your SATA chipset is not supported under CentOS 5.1 (which VicidialNOW 1.1 is based).

Instead of pressing "Enter" on bootup, type the following:

vicisingle all-ide-generic irqpoll nolapic noapic

Hi,

Well it'll be better for you to change the motherboard but if you google around a bit for ACPI you may very well run VICIDIAL on this board flawlessly.
Its an excellent software but yes it do require a bit of experimentation and research when you are stuck.
Moreover the problem which you are facing is not VICIDIAL's problem. For this you need to check LINUX forums but again google will solve it.

Is it that Motherboard is NOT allowing Vicidialnow to get install ?

I have checked and found chipset as AMD 780G/SB700

I have checked with my hardware guy and he confirmed me that its NOT possible to replace the MB as there is no fault in MB.

I toook out the SATA HDD 250 gb and inserted in the low end machine where my current dialer is working with 80 gb. I installed vicidialnow and it went through. But afetr installation, i took out the 250 GB HDD and inderted it in BIOS Version : 2.61
Processor : AMD 5600 X2
Motherboard : ASUS M3A78-EM
Ram : 4 GB 800 freq , i can start the diale but it getting hang. My tech guy said its soem kernel problem. and Asked that w eneed to resolve this "Loading ahci driver" and install vicidialnow in ASUS motherboard only . but no idea how to resolve it. I tried with 1 GB ram also.

OR Any way to resolve this Kernel Problem ?

I spoke to my hARDWARE guy and he agreed to change the motherboard.

Can anyone please suggest which motherboard should I go for . My processor is AMD 5600+X2 , as he told me he can change my motherboard for the last time ?

Also, hardware guy said he can try to upgrade the BIOS but he doubts whether it will solve the problem ...

He also suggested to upgrade the Bios and it MAY work.

My motherboard is : http://www.anitec.ca/product/11524/asus ... et_am2%2B/

Hi,

No doubt that the thread is getting longer but the same is not helping you as this forum is not for LINUX problems !!

As said earlier you can go in for a new motherboard and if that's not possible then simply get a linux guy who can do an initial install for you (lemme know your location). I myself faced identical problem with INTEL DG33FB motherbaord.

Further, there are numerous linux forums where you can get support.

I only had to upgrade BIOS.

Good news is that Same Motherboard works. But somehow et0 is not detected.Though ASUS guys gave me Drivers for the same but I have no clue on how to upgrade it.

Thnx to all who guided me at every step.

Hi,

Kernal is compiled to use Intel Desktop adapters only

ummm. well I'm not sure how your hardware guy managed to do that...

As said earlier locate the model and download appropriate drivers.....
Like my model was R8168 and after downloading drivers all I needed was to perform these steps :

tar vjxf r8168----.tar.bz2
cd r8168-----
make clean modules
make install
depmod -a
insmod .src/r8168.ko (for 2.6 kernel)

hope this helps....

That's totally unrelated to the lan card issue that you have. Follow kapilhotmail's advise and you'll get your lan card working.
