Thank you Matt. I think you are doing really good job. From today onwards I will get started coding things. I got 1 PC 1GB RAM for Asterisk/call processing , 1 PC wid 512RAM for VICIDIAL/ web/php/mysql and
PC for web/archives (for recording purpose and backup and for file sharing)

I got 1meg link and we will use slackware. This all will cater for 20 seats and will increase servers while expanding our seats.

Thank you for your kind co operation. After two months you guys have progressed a lot.

Thanks for the compliments. Your setup looks OK for 20 seats, but if you will be recording all calls you may want to use the recording delay feature in 2.0.1b1 release to not overload your Asterisk server and to avoid recording a lot of 5 second calls.

As fur as I know I am starting with slackware in a computer that will run vicidial , NFS, web server.
How will I connect the PC. WHats the best start

all you need to do to install the DB and web server on another server is do everything as you would for a single server install except use the second machine for MySQL and apache. all MySQL queries need to be done on that second server and all web folders need to go on that second server.

For 2.0.1b1 both the web server and VICIDIAL server need to have the install.pl script run since they both use the /etc/astguiclient.conf file that it creates. Make sure you define the IP address of the second server as the database server and the IP address of the first server as your server_ip everywhere else.

If you "made it bootable" then you didn't burn it right. You have to do an ISO CD burn. Some of the CDrecorders you get free with drives don't support this.

Did you partition your hard drive already in XFDISK?

When exactly did this prompt appear?

As I am going I am confirming few things

got 3 PCs

1 2.8ghz 512Ram 80GB HD-------vicidial /NOS
(cyrex.server...) Maybe Samba if used windows PC as clients

2- 2ghz 512 RAm 40GB HD-------My SQL, webserver (php), web folders/archives
(cyrex.database....)

3- with 1GB RAM 120GB HD------Asterisk/call processing 3.4Ghz
(cyrex.ippabx...)

Is this right.

Thats means I run ultimatebootcd and slackware on all this machines. Using Ip address I will connect these servers together.

I am doing this first time so I am bit concerned. Its better to do it right from begining. cheers matt

It is very difficult to get Asterisk compiled on a VIA Cyrix processor. I strongly recommend using an AMD or Intel based CPU.

I am still looking for a provider in Australia who supports iax -GSM. But I got Sip provider who can give me a good rates to call. I think last time you told me G729 codec uses lots of CPU but that call is good. I will try both but if you know any provider in Australia who supports iax codec please let me know.
