BCM 1000 Integration question

Postby Nortelguy » Wed Sep 24, 2008 9:13 pm

Hi guys, I am new to Vicidial and it seems like a good fun project to take on. My company is currently looking for an Autodialer solution and this one seems pretty good. My question is I'd like to make this tie into my BCM1000 thats already onsite. The system has two PRI interface cards (DTM) and uses digital handsets (T7316e). THe 1000 does support SIP trunking and I was going over the from scratch install file and wanted to be sure Vicidialer was for me. Basiclly I want to feed it a number list dial them wait for an answer from a person then transfer the call to a live rep (4digit ext). This sound possible ?

Ok quick edit:
I was reading the install files for Asterisk and Vicidialer here is what I got
1. I want the dialer behind the BCM so I would need a T1 card for the Dialer and an additional T1 card for the BCM1000.
2. The Vicidialer would place the calls thru the BCM
3. When a live caller is on the phone Vicidialer would transfer the call to a hunt group on the BCM.
4. In order for that to take place it would have to happen on a SIP trunk or H.323 trunk.

I guess my question is which would be better the SIP or H.323. I am more fimiliar with the H.323. Does anyone think I could get that trunk and Dialplan to work ?

Yes, you should be able to get VICIDIAL to work with your switch, and we have done similar setups as you describe.

We always prefer SIP connections to H.323 because it is better supported in Asterisk.

If the agents have direct DIDs then that is the easiest way of directing calls to agents, we have also done the legacy PBX ACD route before for sending answered calls.

Cool, ya we prefer to keep it in a hunt group that way everyone has an equal chance of picking up a call. The hunt group itself has a 4 digit ext number assigned to it. So for each call Vicidialer sends it will send it to that hunt group. Anything I should watch out for ?

That is one way of doing it, you could also have the agents log in as real VICIDIAL agents using the vicidial.php interface if there was a way to call them directly through a DID.

But, to set up remote agents, you just need to set up a remote agent and have the dialplan number set to the number of the PBX's queue, then set the number of lines to the number of agents in that queue and you should be all set.

I would recommend reading the Manager Manual too.
