JAVA or PHP for VICIDIAL

As asterisk 1.4 is launched i was wondering that it will be better to go for JAVA than PHP in VICIDIAL INTERFACE as JAVA as better thread or session management than PHP moreover JAVA is opensource and pushed by company like SUN and asterisk 1.4 also support JAVA

JAVA is not yet 100% open source and noone knows exactly what license it will be released under if/when it is changed to OSS:

Even if by some miracle Java is changed to GPL I do not really like Java, and as the author of almost the entire VICIDIAL project that makes it very unlikely that I will be rewriting everything as Java.
