Hello Everyone,

Are the Vicidial Manager and Agent manuals only available in paid versions? Is there any other free tutorial or a free version of the Manager and Agent manual somewhere on the web? Any other training material?

There are free versions of both of those manuals on the eflo.net website, were you not able to download them?

The only free version of the Manager Manual that I can see says, "The free version of the Manager manual only contains the first two Chapters and the first three Tutorials."

The Agent manual seems to be available with a survey and that should work but what about the Manager manual?

The abbreviated manager manual and the agent manual without screenshots are both available by filling out the survey.

The full versions of both cost money.

The abbrviated version includes only first three chapters if I am not wrong. It doens't include anything about voice broadcasting.

The paid for manual does have information about voice broadcasting, or you can search through the forums some more because all of the content for that specific section is also posted here for free.

Get the full version of the manuals. They're worth it. :D And it helps fund the development of the project.

Hi Matt,

Unfortunately my seach for "broadcast" on the forum didn't turn out any full chapter fromt the book on voice broadcasting but I guess I will read the free manual for now regarding that. I am at a stage to decide whether ViciDial does the job or not so I need to do more reading about and hence not buying the manual yet.

As I have noted before, we have an Elastix (FreePBX + Asterisk) server running which has Queues setup and has dynamic agents logged onto it. Reps are comfortable with what they have. The voice broadcast compaign might yield only 1% of people to presss 0 or want to talk to a customer service rep. If they do that and I don't want to have the phone to log into ViciDial server for various reasons can ViciDial actually send the call to the Elastix server through SIP provider to ZAP of the Elastix box? At that point I can instruct the Elastix server to take the call right away and send to customer service rep since it comes through a specific ZAP channel or comes with a specific caller ID.

Depending on the country you are located in and the list you are dialing I would be surprised if you get even 1% response rate on a press 1 campaign, that would be very high.

Yes, VICIDIAL can send calls that are to go to agents out through any Asterisk trunkt hat is available on the system, so sending calls to agents on Elastix(FreePBX) hould work just fine if you have it configured properly.

You get the software free, comparable to what would cost thousands of dollars from a commercial software vendor. And you get better support from mflorell than any commercial software I've ever owned. The full manual is very helpful, and it's a bargain. Just do it.

Remember that "auto-dialer" is NOT only for a press-one campaign. If you have agents MANUALLY dialing while they have computers in front of them that could be dailing for them ... you are losing a lot of manpower. Vicidial's best first use for a lot of centers is to get rid of the paper and get rid of the delay and confusion for the calls.

With logged in auto-dial campaigns Each call is sent to a live agent immediately with no delay. Each call is dispositioned so that the status of the lead is always known to the system. Calls can be easily recycled with no "paperwork" (or lost/stolen papers) or piles of papers.

With logged in manual-dial campaigns, the calls are generated just like you would a paper campaign, but there's no paper. The agents don't have to keep track of anything on their desks. It's all in Vicidial. If another agent needs those leads or if they remain with the original agent, all the records remain quite tidy and centrally located. No scribbling. Just "call next lead" ... talk ... disposition ... "call next lead" ... etc. And when you come back tomorrow, they're still there. Nothing got lost, no notes to sort through, just start calling the leads with a "disposition" that says they should be called. And of course, callbacks can be scheduled (for yourself or your group).

Press One is a crutch that quite often shuts down a room and wastes leads (due to improper use). But it's not by far the only or even best way to use Vicidial.

Hello,

I am not familiar with all the terms you say, e.g. lead, hopper, etc...but I again I am new to whole call center anyways. The purpose that Vicidial is going to be used in my case is to simply broadcast an announcement. E.g. "We have a meeting coming up on Jan 15 at 5 pm. If you want to know more info or talk to a rep press 1" and that's all. Never had the need to transfer to a rep because as Matt noted people don't press 1. But again it's something that I am asked to do.

So, if there is any better way you can purpose until I read the manuals further and familiarize myself with the terms then please spill it out.

load vicidialNOW onto a box and play with it. it will handle THAT task very easily.
