Hi all,
So in watching the new install float across the screen, I notices that you ask the asterisk 1.2 or 1.4 question. As for the obvious, does this mean you feel more comfortable using a different version that 1.2.31 with 2.0.5? Or is it simply a question to ensure your automated scripts run correctly?
thanks guys nice to see a new version out.

This means that the installer script has to know which version is in use because the command sets are different and the dial plan is different. For the install to work, it must have this information.
That being said: I'd like to hear which version is the "Recommanded" version officially for 2.0.5, myself.
How about it guys? Which version and which release is "Recommended"?
1.2.XX?
1.4.XX?
and then 1.2 vs 1.4?

The 1.2 or 1.4 question is really only asked to find out which default conf files to use.
As for which one is recommended, we still recommend 1.2.30.2 for most medium to high call volume installs. If you want to go with 1.4 we recommend 1.4.21.2. We are also working on some patches for 1.4.24 to see if they will make that version as stable as 1.4.21.2 has shown without the annoying changes that have been made since that release.
