[HELP] Agents logged in into same conference!

Postby AlexR » Sat Dec 02, 2006 6:34 pm

Hello!

Im a having some strange problem... it seems that at times agents log into the same meetme conference room. From astguiclient I read this:

Code: Select all
IAX2/101-11 - 8600051
IAX2/102-25 - 8600056
IAX2/103-3 - 8600057
IAX2/111-14 - 8600055
IAX2/200-10 - 8600054
IAX2/200-17 - 8600051
IAX2/201-16 - 8600052
IAX2/202-5 - 8600053
IAX2/205-2 - 8600053
Local/78600057@default-2509,1 - 3600
Local/78600057@default-2509,2 - 86000

As you can see there both IAX2/101-11 and IAX2/200-17 are in the same meetme room 8600051.

This results in agents hearing each other and other nasty things. Im pretty sure it is a configuration issue but, what parts of the config should i check so i can avoid this from happening?

Thank you,

alejandro

Do you have any duplicates in your vicidial_conferences table?

Are your agents logging out properly after they are done with their session?

Thank you for your reply Matt,

I think I have spotted the problem, my agents are using IDEFISK softphone, the problem i think it is based that agents only log out from the Browser GUI and never hang up the call in the softphone. So VICIDIAL thinks that this conferences number is available and will assign it to some other agent that logs in afterwards. Keep in mind that IDEFISK can manage up to 4 lines...

That is why I have two agents in the same conference.

Sounds logical?

I think it would be nice if somehow the web interface hung up the call when the users press logout in the future. I know this can be avoided with a little bit of training, but it would be one less gotcha to watch for.

Thank you!

this happens to us too. we have 15 agents and they constantly get into each others line. yet they have been trained to log off properly from eyebeam, and they do. still the problem persists.

any other solution out there?

thanks

This seems to be the problem everyone facing.. i feel the best solution to this is to have static conference number defined for a phone number that will ensure that system does not try to assign a random conference to a phone and two phones can never be in same conference....

I guess that wont be hard to do.

No

Basically the reason why you are experiencing this is because of the reasons given above.

and also check your LOAD.

as for everybody is facing this. You guys are the only one experiencing it now. Before it was prevalent as because of the overload of the system. Now everybody is wising up.

most probably op3r is right, maybe your load average is high, or another sip channel of the same softphone login is in use

I have noticed this behavior on systems where the DB runs on the same machine as the rest of the components of vicidial. Check if you have high load on the system during these events.
