PREDICTIVE AUTODIAL

Postby ambt » Mon Jun 01, 2009 5:50 pm

I am using predictive autodial and never have all reps in a call. In fact, the most I get in a call at the same time is about half of them. The settings being used are:

Dial Method: Adapt_Hard_Limit
Autodial Level: 1
Adapt Intensity: 0-Balance

We have 30 channels available and 12 agents. Any ideas?

Version 2.0.4 is no longer supported, we recommend upgrading to 2.0.5.

what is the loadavg of your machine when all agents are logged in?

Load Average

Postby ambt » Tue Jun 09, 2009 3:30 pm

The load average with 10 agents logged in running manual right now because autodial is not working at all ( I can't get any live calls - all agents are sitting in ready mode)is 2.40

CPU AND OTHER STUFF

Intel Pentium4 CPU 2.80 GHz

Also, we are using SIP trunks with a Class 5 Switch and a 1 gig Ethernet connection

Also...

I cannot get the autodial function to work at all. No matter what campaign I put the agents in they all sit there in READY mode with NO LIVE CALLS being made.

a loadavg of 2.4 is too high for a P4 CPU.

Consider upgrading or getting an additional server.

As for the no dialing issue, please post output of "screen -ls" on your Linux CLI

First of all, I would just like to say THANK YOU. You have been so responsive and this forum is wonderful.

I did a search on recommended hardware for 20-agents, using SIP trunks, VOIP, outgoing calling only, no recording currently and can't find anything. A post to one of my other issues suggested that our single P4 server is not adequate. It further suggested to upgrade or go to two servers.

Could I please get a preferred setup (one or two) and the best configuration. I am in dialer hell right now. We are just today upgrading to 2.0.5, have only been able to do manual dialing. I am pretty sure that if I restart the server predictive will work again but don't think I should have to do that.

Thank you in advance for the help. I hope one day I will be able to contribute something to the forum besides just asking questions.

If you need a single server only I would recommend an Intel Core2quad machine with 4GB RAM.

As for your other issues, you would need to post some more output to let us know what is going on.

so even though none of the software's system requirements even come close to needing a C2D or even a server machine, why are all you folks suggesting you need a supercomputer do run these simple linux programs?

If you have bothered to read the forum and understand what you are reading. You could have enough understanding that the reason we require a "supercomputer" is because VICIDIAL is a resource hog.

So tell please enlighten us on the software system requirements you deemed not needing a fast computer?

I would really like to know what simple linux programs you deemed not necessary to run at least a decent hardware for it.

A Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad is pretty much standard nowadays. Or are we still living in an older era? :?

It's not just a "suggestion". It's a "here's what we have found". Especially when being asked our opinion based on our experience.

Any client who says "I will only be putting two agents with no recording and 1:1 dialing" will be told that they can quite easily use a Pentium III.

But remember that these "simple linux programs" will use all the available CPU resources by the time there are 20 agents with 4:1 dialing and full recording on the system, even on a Core2Quad. That was TWENTY agents. That's not even a full call center. And 4:1 dialing is pretty light for some of these rooms.

But what you have to remember is that if someone doesn't have a box "lying around", the concept of going out and paying cash for one that may be "disposed of" in favor of a box that WILL handle 20 agents means that there would then be a complete waste of a box and a full re-install down the road that could have been skipped entirely if a slightly more expensive machine were built at the onset.

For many of these new friends, the concept of a full reinstall in 45 days is NOT something they look forward to (to say the least).

So, yes, you can run this software on a P4 you have gathering dust in a corner, but if you go online and ask what you should go out and BUY ... you are probably asking because you intend to MAKE A LIVING with it. Honestly, you don't see a lot of professionals who drive all day long in Yugos or 1987 Civics. Get a nice, solid, "will work for a few years without problems or obsolescence" machine. Presently, that appears to be a Core2Quad or a Core2Duo.

And let's not forget:

I HIGHLY recommend that ALL users download and install ViciBox on a (Please pardon the language, but it's to get a point across) Piece of Crap P4 laying around ... and install it more than once. It's AMAZING how easy it is just once, but after you've done it a couple times, it's very cool. Easier than TrixBox in 2006!

But the problem is that very few people actually do this. So the fear of a reinstall is a motivating factor. Not to mention the uncertainty of moving all the data and configuration changes ... scary to a lot of early users.

Like I said, I have it running on a PII for fun (for one user). Just give it a shot. It won't hurt to try it, and if you get a setting wrong ... just install it again. It also doubles as a nice LAMP installer.

No hardware required to get a LIVE phone server (using VOIP trunks and a soft phone). And this allows for quick and easy testing of a truly live server. Don't wait until your budget meetings are over and have to rush ...

Then before you go "Live" purchase the manager's manual to figure out how to do some of the truly cool stuff. But the dialer can be LIVE on a spare computer in about 30 minutes ... dialing and connecting calls to an agent without spending a dime. And it'll be a real (if somewhat underpowered for the future) server.
