when i try to dial in vicidial i receive a message from the operator saying "i am sorry that is not a valid extension number. please try again."

this the asterisk CLI output i got.

can anyone help me. i need my system up and running i have been testing this for days already and never got through. your help is very much appreciated.

Ould be a codec problem. Make sure that you have the same codec selected in the phone as in the sip.conf (or sip-vicidial.conf) files. Posting additional details about your setup will help too, like version, Vicidial, ViciBox or VicidialNow, Phone config info, server info, carrier configuration etc.

update on conference

tnx for the suggestion. i now updated my codecs and installed them. there is still some problem though. this is the error i got.

that is the part that the operator says "that is not a valid extension.please try again."

check your asterisk CLI> and see what number is actually being dialed. Then try dialing that number directly from a soft phone on the system and find out why it won't dial. Wrong number of digits? Forgot to dial 9 (or 8 or 7 or whatever)? No dial code? (country code)

The asterisk CLI does not show the phone number dialed, but some other code from vicidial. Normal asterisk installation show the dialed number.

Where can I find the logs, it says in 'agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log'.

Also I did not load any lists (I have disabled the autodial in Admin interface). I dialed the numbers manually, and the agent reports show the correct number dialled.

Where else can I check the dialed number.

solved the problem

The numbers in the list are not being loaded correctly.

There are 3 setting to check:
1) Add 'X' in dial prefix to override the default prefix of 9 which is added if left blank.
Or add your prefix like '44' for UK and skip these prefixed digits while dialing.

2) Other problem is the Dial Code, which is default 1 for US. For this change 'omit phone code' in Campaign from 'N' to 'Y'.

3) In 'carriers' setting in Admin change the digit '1' in ${EXTEN:1} with the numbers digits you want skipped from the begining of the number being dialed. (This did not work for me. I used ${EXTEN}).

This worked for me.
