I have downloaded the latest ISO of vicidianow and installed it in my pc. I'm a newbie but i have background in asterisk and CENTOS. I can call out using my eyebeam if i dial it manually in the softphone. But when the time i logged in with the WEB dialer. there is no sound even the girl that usually speaks "youre the only person in this conference doesn't appear" When i try also to hungup and logout in the WEB dialer, my softphone doest hungup. Anyone can help, its been weeks already i haven't solve this problem yet.

Four possibilities:

1) STEP BY STEP!
(Don't ask for "help getting the whole thing going", ask for help making the agent phone ring when you log in to the GUI, or ask for help getting "you are the only..." to play if it's already ringing).

2) Try ViciBox, the differences are minimal, but I'm often surprised that they cause a completely different group of people to succeed where they failed on the other.

3) Actually this also applies to #2 above: Go Through The Manual ONE LINE AT A TIME until something isn't perfect, and then ask for help to get to the next line. Eventually you'll get to a working dialer. Catch that "ONE line at a time."

4) Pay someone to get you off the ground (unless your time isn't worth money! After a successful Vicibox install, it's not that expensive to get someone to "make it dial").

problem with vicibox is my hardware does not support. but with vicidialnow all are supported. But i don't know how this thing happened. I had already install vicidial once and it runs smoothlly. But when i try the new version, it does not sound anymore. Phone rings in my softphone if i dial manually with the keypads. But when it passes through the dialer it did goes through the conference or meetme but i can't hear the voice "youre the only person in this conference" and when i logout , my sofphone still not hunging up.

hi matt, i really need your help. I can call through softphones, im using codec g729, ulaw, and alaw. i can login to the web dialer and my softphone rings. but the problem is i can't hear the voice of a lady "you're the only person in this conferencen" if i click dial next it can call out numbers and give the status "LIVE CALL" but the problem is i can't hear anything, and also when i logout the Web Dialer it does not let the softphone hungup. Any help would be much appreciated.

Try looking in your /etc/rc.d/rc.local file and change the ntpdate line's 18.XXX IP address to pool.ntp.org and uncomment the ntpd line after it. THen reboot and see if you still get the same issue.

I have reported the same issue in http://www.vicidial.org/VICIDIALforum/v ... php?t=8663 thread. I am not using a Digium card (ztdummy), but the issue remains. I think this is a timing issue, but not sure where the /etc/rc.d/rc.local file can be found to update ntp server information.

This appear to be a persistent issue as a number of users have reported it. Your help is always appreaciated.

It seems like the USB and Ethernet are sharing IRQ 10. Don't know where to go from here.

Those settings can normally be changed in the BIOS setup. Try allocating a dedicated IRQ for your USB.

Usb is needed for TIMING please do not disable it.
