Ringback tone on call transfer

Postby poksa » Wed Aug 12, 2009 7:48 am

Hi,

I'm setting up an Asterisk/Vicidial system for inbound contact center and I have a slight problem;

I can't hear a ringback tone (like ringing/busy etc) when doing a call transfer. When making a manual call, I hear the ringback tone ok, but not when I try to transfer the call to a 3rd person while the caller is on hold. Is it possible to set this functionality in Vicidial or is this an asterisk option?

The reason I need this functionality is that the agents check if the person is available/busy/speaking on the phone before transfering the call.

Thanks in advance!

Edit:
Using Vicidial 2.0.5-173 (build 90320-0424) and Asterisk 1.2.30.2

That is what we added the "3-Way Call Dial Prefix" field. When you put 88 in that field(and you have that prefix in the dialplan) it will dial out through a loopback IAX trunk and you can hear the ringing.

; This is a loopback dialaround to allow for hearing of ringing for 3way calls
exten => _881NXXNXXXXXX,1,Answer
exten => _881NXXNXXXXXX,2,Dial(${TRUNKloop}/9${EXTEN:2},,To)
exten => _881NXXNXXXXXX,3,Hangup

Hello;

If we are talking about the button TRANSFER - CONF, which has Dial with Customer and Park Customer Dial. If I do not need the caller to hear what I am doing and I need to place him in the Hold to hear music, then I am going to use Park Customer Dial, and the problem in this is not hearing the ring back tone. So, does below resolve it?

Do I have to modify the below to suit my dialing plan, so instead of _881NXXNXXXXXX, I can make it _88NXXXXXXX?

; This is a loopback dialaround to allow for hearing of ringing for 3way calls
exten => _881NXXNXXXXXX,1,Answer
exten => _881NXXNXXXXXX,2,Dial(${TRUNKloop}/9${EXTEN:2},,To)
exten => _881NXXNXXXXXX,3,Hangup

Hello;

It is resolved when we need to transfer for mobile or landline, but when we need to transfer to another extension, we do not hear the ring back tone. How this can be resolved? Any special loop is required for the transfer to another extension?
