Conference call not initiated on login

VICIDIALNOW 1.2 CE

I have almost all things configured and can conenct to the meetme conference (8500051) using the softphone. But when I try to login through Vicidial, there is no activity on the Asterisk CLI and I get the Noone is in yuor session message. If I click Logout, I get teh following CLI:

Code: Select all
-- Executing MeetMeAdmin("Local/55558600051@default-d4e9,2", "8600051|K") in new stack
  == Parsing '/etc/asterisk/meetme.conf': Found
Sep  2 16:18:12 NOTICE[5029]: app_meetme.c:2210 admin_exec: Conference Number not found
    -- Executing Hangup("Local/55558600051@default-d4e9,2", "") in new stack
  == Spawn extension (default, 55558600051, 2) exited non-zero on 'Local/55558600051@default-d4e9,2'
    -- Executing DeadAGI("Local/55558600051@default-d4e9,2", "agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log--HVcauses--PRI-----NODEBUG-----16---------------") in new stack
    -- AGI Script agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log--HVcauses--PRI-----NODEBUG-----16--------------- completed, returning 0

I tried using a non registered phone, and got:

Code: Select all
NOTICE[5830]: channel.c:2514 __ast_request_and_dial: Unable to request channel SIP/cc100

THis suggests to me that it does attempt to place a call, but in the first scenario I cannot figure out what the problem is. Any help is appreciated.

Not to be picky yousaf, but can you post the rest of your setup?

Please read the stickies and the MANUAL (available on EFLO.net) before posting. In there you will find that you need to post your hardware and software with versions and any Other Software you may have installed in your system.

Put this information in your signature and you will save yourself a lot of 'waiting' time while noone can really help you because they don't have this information.

Also, you may find that you answer your own question or find out where your answer may be (so you don't have to wait for an answer ...).

Then come back! We're happy to help.

____

Also, I note that you said: "when I try to login through Vicidial, there is no activity on the Asterisk CLI" and "I tried using a non registered phone, and got... [activity in the asterisk cli]".

So ... I would like to know what the difference between the two logon attempts are. I gleen from your post that this is the scenario (let me see how close I am):

Attempt 1: Phone Logon: XXXX, Phone PWD: XXXX (valid phone, properly registered and verified registration via "sip show peers"), next screen, User Logon: XXXX, User PWD (Obviously valid as well)

Attempt 2: Phone Logon: XXXX, Phone PWD: XXXX (valid phone, but NOT properly registered and does NOT show in "sip show peers"), next screen, User Logon: XXXX, User PWD (Obviously valid as well)

Thus the only difference between the two being that in the first, the Phone IS registered to an account under "Admin->Phones" and in the second attempt, the phone is NOT actually registered, but the account is there.

Am I close?

Hi Bill, yes you are exactly right in your description of the issue. I did have the same issue and tried looking through the posts to see if I had recorded the solution before but was unable to find it. I have managed to resolve the issue, and as wth other issues posted, this one was a small oversight on my part.

RESOLUTION: Use Firefox or IE, Goole Chrome does not work. Theissue surfaced when I wsa working with a client to show them how to use the agent interfac and the calls were not coming through to the agent on login. When I tried the same thing fom my workstation using Fireox it was working. So really it was not an issue at all.

Thanks for looking into it. I hope this post helps others.
