Server kernel in Ubuntu - 1000hz?

Postby jdonalds » Thu Sep 24, 2009 2:59 pm

We have been running on Centos5 with a custom kernel, but are now thinking of moving to ubuntu server. Do you need to recompile a new kernel in Ubuntu to get it set up correctly? I believe it has 100hz set, not 1000hz. We will be using the usb timer from Sangoma.

Default should be fine, especially if you will be using the VoiceTime USB timer.

Is 64bit or 32bit ubuntu server recommended for astguiclient? It will just be running the asterisk/vicidial scripts. DB and web are on other servers.

No real reason to use 64bit at this point. Stick with 32 except for a large DB-only server.
