Extension is not managing the line.

2 things:

1. I assume that the lines you ordered from your telco are bidirectionnal lines (support both, out and in calls)
If not, you first have to ask you telco to change one of the line to out only or out and in.

2. Could tell me what type of lines you are using ? (Zap, SIP, ...)
this is helpful since configuring call on Asterisk requires this information. After what I should be able to tell you how to do.

Spaquet, way to jump in there, man. Excellent.

Bukunola:

Please post your complete setup when you ask a question. If you do, it is much more likely that someone who recognizes it will be able to help you out. So post your Vicidial version (with build), Asterisk version and your installation method (including OS with version), any Other Software that may be installed in the box. Hardware would be nice as well (CPU Brand Model and speed, RAM, HD, and it's a good idea to name your Motherboard and NIC if you can).

If you put this information into your signature (on one line) you can forget about it until it changes and it will ALWAYS be available for those looking at your questions.

Remember that we are all volunteers here, and sometimes we only have time to glance at a question and if it doesn't "click", we move on. Give more technical background information, and you're more likely to get a "click".

That being said, Spaquet is right. We need to know what type of trunk it is. If it is SIP, then NO, you cannot "convert" an inbound call into an outbound trunk, but YES you likely have purchased both services from your provider and need merely set it up properly in Carriers to begin making calls.

Read the manual for how to set up outbound, it's not related to inbound except that you CAN set up both in the same Carrier. I do think that you may be the first person in the history of this software (or what I've seen of it, i'm fairly new) to get inbound working before outbound. LOL. I wonder if there's a prize for that?

VicidialNOW Version 1.2
Asterisk 1.2
1GB RAM
Inbound Channel: ZAP
Agent Channel: SIP

Spaquet and Williamconley, thanks for your response. The type of line am using is ZAP.What am trying to achieve is specifying one of the three inbound lines for my outbound calls.
Thanks.

If you're using ZAP this means that you have analog lines.

The first thing I would do now is taking an old phone to test the lines and see if you can place outbound calls.
