Autodial issues

Postby umop3plsdn » Fri Oct 06, 2006 12:43 pm

I can login initially with my SIP softphone and make as many manual calls as I want to. As soon as I login to VICIDIAL it just waits and waits and waits for a call. I see it dialing in the Asterisk log just fine... However, no calls are connected. Then if I logout and try to do a manual dial all I receive is a solid tone. I've tried to reload asterisk completely by every known method including a kill -9(and then running start_asterisk_boot.pl), stop gracefully, HUPing it, restart now.... and I still wont be able to make a manual outbound call.. seems as if one of my T1 channels stays in a locked status. Now if I reboot the dialer, manual dialing works fine again until I login to VICIDIAL. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

What is the output of "screen -r"

Can you post some Asterisk CLI output from when you try to auto-dial?

2795.ASTVDadapt (Detached)
2799.ASTVDauto (Detached)
2808.ASTVDremote (Detached)

Executing Dial("SIP/xlite1-081af300", "Zap/g1/12072998485||tTo") is my manual dial as you can probably already tell.

Can you attach to the ASTVDauto screen and post the output when you have a person logged in to auto-dial?

What kind of telco circuit do you have?

Please post the dialing that happens on the Asterisk CLI when you are in auto-dialing mode.

Please post some of the contents of the /var/log/astguiclient/action_full.2006-XX-XX file for the timeframe when you are attempting to auto-dial.

Could you post the Asterisk CLI output with AGI output set to STDERR?

I am noticing that there does not seem to be a Success for all of the Originate Actions sent, are these present in the file?

I'm not seeing any indication that the calls are being sent to a transfer AGI script. What do you have in the VDAD exten field of the Campaign?

Do you see any Asterisk CLI output where agi-VDADtransfer.agi is being called?

What do you have for 8365 in your extensions.conf?

I do not see that script being called upon whatsoever...

This is what I have for 8365 under extensions.conf

root@gravity:/# cat /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf |grep 8365
exten => 8365,1,AGI(call_log.agi,${EXTEN})
exten => 8365,2,AGI(agi-VDADtransfer.agi,${EXTEN})
exten => 8365,3,AGI(agi-VDADtransfer.agi,${EXTEN})
exten => 8365,4,AGI(agi-VDADtransfer.agi,${EXTEN})
exten => 8365,5,Hangup

Something is very wrong then. What a call is answered it should be sent to 8365 immediately. If Asterisk does not receive an Answer signal from the carrier it will not send it to 8365.

Are you getting an Answer signal?

how are your zaptel and zapata conf files configured?

That's the thing... I have it loaded up with test leads all with phone numbers that I can answer and none of them ring... But doing a manual dial from my softphone before I attempt to try autodial will work.

root@gravity:/etc# cat zaptel.conf

Since you are using RBS T1s you can use ZapBarge to listen to a Zap channel as it is being dialed and actually hear the dialing process including DTMF tones. Can you listen in on one of you lines and hear what is happening to these calls?

I barged a couple of the channels to find out that the DTMF tones are being passed before there is even dialtone. It goes straight to a fast busy and then a solid tone. Then those channels stay locked.

That doesn't sound very good. Do you have 10-digit or 11-digit dialing through your carrier?

Have you had your carrier monitor the circuit as you try to place calls?

What kind of Zaptel card are you using?

We pass 11 digits through our carrier.

I know I must have something misconfigured maybe in my extensions.conf because I can do a manual dial from my softphone just fine. Plus I switch out to our old Sundial Technologies dialer when the reps come in and they work on the same circuit fine.

I have spoken with our carrier to monitor the circuit but they have their priorities and will not escalate the ticket. So i'm on the list to wait to see the translation on the channels.. It is kind of odd how it won't release the channel either. Fortunately we don't have to bounce the circuit when they are locked though.

We are using a Rhino R1T1

When you dial from the softphone do you also dial the 9? Perhaps you dont need the 9 to dial out? in which case you change the 9 in your campaign settings to X.

have you checked your iptables? i used to have issues with autodialing not getting any calls. it seems that my firewall was turned on on my asterisk servers. turning them off solved the problem.

Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT)

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)

So I started from scratch and got it all up everything worked just fine took 5 autodial calls. So I called it quits for about 30 minutes. Went to test it again and now it is doing the exact same thing as it was doing before.. I made no changes in that 30 minute window. I've tried rebooting everything there are no alarms..

Everytime I've checked this in the past I see 1 pseudo channel.. What is this all about?

What version of astGUIclient are you using?

Can you post some of the output of your /var/log/astguiclient/agiout.2006-10-XX file when this happens?

Ok i've got it working but it is in the most unsual way. 100% reproducable atleast the last 75 times i've tried it. Mind you this defies all logic and doesn't make any sense but works. It seems as if the initiation for authentication screws it up somehow, if I login I can see it attempting to dial with no success whatsoever. But! if I leave the agent logged in client side and reboot the asterisk server as soon as the server starts back up it starts dialing and connecting the agent with calls!!!! So I attempt to logout and log back in and then there's nothing again! So it only works if I login all stations and then reboot the dialer. Any suggestions??
