Hi group;
Does ViciDialNOW automatically configures IPTABLES?
Thanks.

So can we say it is secure by default or do we have to add some extra stuff to properly secure it?
Thanks.

It's quite secure by default since the firewall is enabled. Only the ports needed by Asterisk and Vicidial are only open.
Here they are:
21/tcp ftp
22/tcp ssh
80/tcp http
443/tcp https
10k/tcp webmin
4569/udp iax
5060/udp sip
10k-65k/udp rtp
You still need to do extra stuff to properly secure your VicidialNOW server. One of the most important thing is to change all default passwords. Specially the Vicidial admin and Asterisk phone extensions.

How to get vent working around a firewall? My friend uses ventrilo, and there is a firewall that was recently put up on the internet he uses. Is there a way to get vent to work around the firewall? any ideas? It's really important we talk to him.
