Issues with paused agents

Postby Janky » Fri Feb 19, 2010 1:09 pm

Hello,

Having some trouble with the agents statuses ill try to explain this so you can understand.

this only happens some times. an agent will pause the system or go into a dispo and on the server will stay at this status all though in there browser it will look as if they are ready and not paused or in dispo.

Example: agent will not be paused on client end but realtime screen displays the agent as being paused or in dispo.

then i will have to log them out and re login or sometimes use the emergency logout just so that server does not show them as logged in and paused on the realtime screen then proceed to logging them back in and all will be fine untill this happens again.

basically seems like a communication issue between the agent screen and the server.

Sorry if this is hard to understand i will try and clarify if you have any questions. As always any assistance is much appreciated

Thanks in advance!

This system currently only handling 7 agents at the max

load average: 0.20, 0.16, 0.11

Have tested using IE 8 and latest version of firefox

workstations are HP systems with AMD duel core 2.6mhz and 3g ram running vista

i have went through each of the workstation pc's and removed any background applications hp preinstalled crap etc. to ensure they are using minimal resources. as this was my first assumption.

Anything in the Firefox Error Console when this happens?

have you considered upgrading to 2.2.0?

i will have to check the firefox error console.

have not considered upgrading yet as i have just recently got this system in production. i do not have any issues in doing so though so far as it can be done smoothly.

Find a solution?

Postby UltimateCollector » Fri Feb 26, 2010 10:25 pm

Hey Janky!

I have the same issue...only with remote users logging in with a Microsoft PPTP connection. When using the dialer, agents on the local network work fine. The remote agents will work from some amount of time (2 minutes to 20 minutes) when the dialer will pause them.

Any ideas?

Try upgrading to 2.2 and see if this helps minimize your remote agents' pause issues.

i intend on upgrading i would like to get a better understanding of the system in its whole before proceeding with upgrade though. I have only been running this for about 3 weeks now.

although in my honest opinion i think it is load on the workstation computers more than anything. they are running vista which is a horrible resource hog and ive noticed that after a couple days of the machines running the ram is running at about 1.4gigs constantly after reboot they run around 800megs. im going to start having the agents shut down there systems at night and see how much it continues. im still upgrading it though lol just in due time.

along with other things being ran or viewed on the pc's by the agents that may or may not be work related if you catch my drift lol.

You might be right. It might be the load on your workstations. I have never encountered this issue on a LAN (most workstations usually run Linux so load is never an issue. Hehehe!). However, I have encountered this when agents are connecting via the internet. Most of the time it's a network issue on their end.
