Please help! Vicidial acting odd.

Postby xmerlin » Mon Oct 30, 2006 11:31 am

Hiya guys

We've got a Vicidial system here that we're testing, but it seems to be doing some odd things.

The system is just a simple box with IAX trunking for external call termination and ztdummy for the timing. logging an extesion on to asterisk and calling without vicidial works fine both inbound and outbound.

Manual calling within vicidial seems to be working fine as well, with the exception of the agent screen showing that there are no live calls, even if there are, i think this is just a little bug and its not somethign im going to worry about too much at this stage.

the problem comes when we switch the campain over to ratio mode and log the user out and in again. the sytem is logging the user in properly and calling the softphone as well as dialling out, but it is not putting the call through to the agent, which as you can imagine is a bit of a problem.

If anyone has any ideas where we go from here i would be most appreciative.

check your crontab. you can check it by type crontab -l

also if there are crontab entries you can try to restart you server.

crontab seems to be working, but im not getting any output from it and not sure what i should be runnign under it...

i have a feeling that the problem may be something to do with the IAX trunk not announcing the call being connected properly. does that sound possible?

i'm at home now and unfortunately it doesnt look like it wants to work at all with a softphone connected over a vpn so i cant post output from crontab until the morning, which i will.

In the meantime, though, i will post my IAX.conf and extesions.conf below (obviously with the trunk details edited)

You might want to check that your iax trunk is registered properly in iax.conf.

i believe it is, as i am able to make and recieve calls via that trunk when bypassing vicidial and dialling out manually and also when dialling out manually using vicidial.

hi, jsut a small update:

crontab -| doesn't give me any output during use of vicidial.

also, the IAX trunk supplier says that permanent registration is not possible on an IAX trunk.

any ideas?

thanks
