Hi, are there ways with my multi server setup that i have PHONE ID registered on asterisk server 1 and 2 that when my server 1 goes down or off still the phone ID used by agent on 1 will transfer traffic directly to asterisk server2 and they are not cut off.
Coz the scenario i have agents on server 1 are put on hold while the server is rebooted but agent on server 2 are still dialing. so its completely down time on server 1.
Any idea.

Have you read the ViciDial Manager Manual?
Take a look at the Phone Alias features, that is what these were built for.

@mflorell
Yes i have read it now.
so it means that i have PHONE ID cc100 on server 1 i will still have PHONE ID cc100 on server 2.?
ill create a Phone Alias of the 2 same PHONE ID then its ok,
How about adding 2 different PHONE ID on both server is it possible to add them on a single PHONE Alias.

You use the phone Logins in the alias entry, not the extension(and I am not sure what you are referring to as a "phone ID"), since the phone login is unique across a ViciDial installation.

Phone login is what you use to log into the agent interface with, not the "extension".

"Phone ID" appears nowhere in ViciDial, what is the exact field name you are referring to?

@mflorell
sorry im lost, the Phone ID i meant was the Phone login.
can you make some sample of a Phone alias for a multi server if its ok,
the manual says this filed should be filled up:
Alias ID
Alias Name
Phones Logins List
The phone login list is where i dont know what should i put in.

Phones Logins List - The comma separated list of phone logins used when an agent logs in using phone load balanced logins. The Agent application will find the active server with the fewest agents logged into it and place a call from that server to the agent upon login.
For Example:
350x,350y,350z

@mflorell
oh ok, so i should be renaming my Phone login on the other server to identify since my phone login on server sample is 300 and still on the other server its also 300.
should i change phone login to be unique on the multi servers.

Here's the simplest explanation about this uber feature that can be learned from reading the manager's manual.
For example you have a phone that can register in 2 asterisk servers and one of them fails (hope not the one running the crontabs) 1 of them fails. The agent can just log out and login again using the phone alias you gave.

@Op3r
Thanks for the reply,
Yes its more clear now - actually i just renamed the phone log in as Matt did said so i can add them up on my Phone log in list when creating Phone alias.
just one more add up, if 1 asterisk fails and then restored back again, what will happen..?
and also i cant used the phone alias like when my 1 asterisk fails then on the other server there is another agent using the same phone login that my phone alias use on its list..?
sample:
Phone Alias A
Phone log list: 100,100a
there is an agent 100a log in on asterisk 2.
Hope you get my point.
