Extra Features in Vicidial

Postby turiyain » Sat Jul 24, 2010 1:49 am

Recently, we have installed a vicidialer. And searching for below mentioned
facilities:

(1) Barge Facility (Listen the conversation of Call Agent with Customer)
(2) Block Mobile Numbers to be dialed from the lead
(3) Voice Mail & Fax Machine Calls should be stopped to reach to agent

Is there anyone in the list who is using these features.

With thanks in advance

1) when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method, vicidial version and build, asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box.

Similar to This:
Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X Build XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

2) Please do not post the same question (even in parts) twice. http://www.vicidial.org/VICIDIALforum/v ... highlight=

3) what country are you dialing into?

4) it is VICIDIAL not "vicidialer" (look at the top left corner of this screen)

5) if you read the manager's manual, most of what you asked will be done already (except the mobile number thing, which is country dependent)

mobile numbers in the US are the same as other numbers EXCEPT: there is a database (which can be purchased, i'm not sure if the vicidial group sells it but it would seem likely) and there are some services that will "classify" numbers as business/cell/residential.

nanpa.com is the authority that tracks the numbers, and knowing how to read their data can help identify wireless vs regular numbers. (for instance: a block of numbers owned by a company that is owned by verizon is likely to be cell phones IF it is in an area that verizon does not own land lines ...). But it is a complicated process, which is why it is generally easier to purchase a list or service.

No, we do not sell a cellphone database, and that database is huge because of the advent of number portability a few years ago. There are hundreds of thousands of numbers that used to be land-lines that have been moved to Cellphone providers (for example: Verizon PSTN -> Tmobile). There are services that will scrub your lists for cellphones and flag them for you on a per-list basis. We have client that do this on a monthly basis and they say it works rather well.

Actually, we have done this for a few clients as well. Not cheap, though.

i'd say you just answered your own question.

if you want to disable dialing numbers based on pattern, you can do this in you carrier (by having them hang up instead of dial based on the pattern)

vicidial has "sample" dial plans that can be used for individual countries, area codes, 888#s, etc.

they are stored in the "extensions.conf" file. searching for uk within that file will show a sample plan for how to specifically capture and dial a call meant for the uk.

if the dial plan in question had the line containing "hangup" instead of one with a "dial" command on it ... the call would immediately terminate.
this code will DIAL the UK through TRUNKX
Code: Select all
; dial a long distance outbound number to the UK
; This 'o' Dial flag is VERY important for VICIDIAL on outbound calls,
exten => _901144XXXXXXXXXX,1,AGI(agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log)
exten => _901144XXXXXXXXXX,2,Dial(${TRUNKX}/${EXTEN:1},55,To)
exten => _901144XXXXXXXXXX,3,Hangup

this code will HANG UP instead
Code: Select all
; terminate calls with uk dial code
exten => _901144XXXXXXXXXX,1,AGI(agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log)
exten => _901144XXXXXXXXXX,2,Hangup
so whatever pattern you would like to "terminate" ... there's your template. put it in your "dial plan" in your "carrier" under Admin.

Thanks for your great patience. I am adding this text in extensions.conf:

This is my normal calling carrier :

exten => _95X.,1,AGI(agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log)
# exten => _95X.,2,Set(CALLERID(name)=)
exten => _95X.,2,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN:2}@SIP-netfor-canada,120,Tto)
exten => _95X.,3,Hangup

This is making normal calls.

Now I added text as per your advise with some change, but it is not blocking the mobile calls.

exten => _95447X.,1,AGI(agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log)
exten => _95447X.,3,Hangup

Here 95 is a dial plan and 44 (UK Country Code and 7 is mobile number first number)
But it is not blocking the mobile calls.

But it is not blocking the mobile calls.

the calls in question are already matching the 95X pattern, most likely. the 95447X pattern is being ignored.

also, it is poor form to have ,1, and ,3, but not a ,2,

show your cli from the calls and specify more digits in the 95X to differentiate between the calls better.

you may also want to AVOID using the "." after the "X". instead, use the proper number of X's to define the length of the dial string. this tends to help asterisk choose a "better match" instead of "first match" depending on asterisk's configuration.

you could ALSO construct and "if/then" statement in the 95X. version of the dial plan (send to hang up if it matches the mobile pattern)

it's a language unto itself, lots of fun to play with.

After making the following changes :

exten => _95447X,2,Hangup

This pattern will ONLY match 6 digit numbers starting with 95447. How many digits are UK numbers? If I recall, they are 10 digits ... then you add the 95 (carrier id) and the 44 (country code) for a total of 14 digits. Try _95447XXXXXXXXX instead.

have your agents disposition them as "fax" and "answering machines" and they'll never get called again unless you choose those status's to call.

get cpd through the vicidial group and set up professional amd.

first one's free, second one costs $ but will do the job without costing employee time.

having your agents disposition calls as "A" (Answering Machine) and "FAX" (Guess) doesn't cost you anything to "install".

getting the sangoma CPD system (google cpd vicidial) from The Vicidial Group costs money. But then the employee time is no longer wasted.

AMD is free but takes two seconds to operate per call and is (according to the Vicidial Group) only about 85% accurate.

having your agents disposition calls as "A" (Answering Machine) and "FAX" (Guess) doesn't cost you anything to "install".
is also free. ("doesn't cost you anything ...")
