when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method, vicidial version and build, asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box.

Similar to This:
Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X Build XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

Ok, now I can see the dial screen but I still cannot make outbound calls. When dialing any softphone's extension I can get through but I want to dial out of the vicidial box.

My digium X100p card is connected with a PBX extension and I can land on the vicidial box when dialing that particular extension now I want to place a call to the other PBX extension and out of PBX extension from vicidial agent screen.

Asterisk Version: 1.2.30.2
Single Server
No extra software after installation

yes, I can see the carrier entry named 'SIPEXAMPLE' exactly the same entry that is in the Manual's tutorial but with field active = 'N'. Do I have to enable it ?

I can answer the inbound call with no problems. But now I need to configure outbound call.

Yes, I first tried to solve my problem by reading managers manual but to no avail that is why I posted here.

Could anyone please share with us that how the outbound call works, what are the configurations and what should one know before configuring outbound calls?

I am sorry I don't know the .iso version as I didn't install it.

VicidialNOW VERSION: 2.0.5-174
BUILD: 90522-0506
Asterisk Version: 1.2.30.2
Single Server
No extra software after installation

Thanks

read extensions.conf. it has several examples for using T1/POTS/ZAP to generate calls. Most people have to "disable" those in the extensions.conf, you'll need to use them. When set up properly you'll be using the "dial 9" scenario where the campaign dial prefix is set to "9" ... for the rest of the pattern, we need to know where you are dialing (in the US it will be 1+10digits unless it's a local number in which case it's just 10 digits without the 1)

Thanks williamconley,

yes, outbound calling was disabled in the extensions.conf. I uncomment the dial 800 outbound extension and it worked.

Thanks again for your time and help.
