newbi question- post installation commands

Postby ovedaa » Mon Sep 13, 2010 3:42 am

i'm running a test server so i installed vicibox server 2.0.2, so i'm in the command line:
what do i type to enter the vicidial system? (doesn't matter admin/agent whatever)
And is there some sort of command list available online for vicibox/vicidial?

thanks

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and OS with kernel or version, vicidial version and build, asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box.

Similar to This:
Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X Build XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)
_______

Vicibox is not a "server". It installs a group of scripts known collectively as VICIdial and an operating system called "OpenSUSE Linux".

The interaction with VICIdial (the software that is installed by the Vicibox .iso installer onto the OpenSUSE operating system) is entirely web based. Virtually NOTHING happens on the server's console. There is no "desktop" and there are no required commands on the console itself (with a few notable exceptions such as setting up backup and changing the IP address).

So get a web browser on a computer on the same subnet and "surf" to the IP address you installed the server software on, and then grab your tutorial on "how to use this" (which one are you using?)

http://download.vicihost.com/iso/vicibox/server/ViciBox_Redux-Install.pdf

http://download.vicihost.com/iso/vicibox/server/ViciBox_Redux.i686-2.0.2.iso

i have no sangoma/digium hardware
and no additional software

i followed the instructions from above,
i type "http://-my ip-/vicidial/welcome.php"
and "http://-my ip-/vicidial/admin.php"
i get: "-bash ... no such file or directory"
what am i doing wrong?
and an unrelated question does vicidial support openvox hardware such as this one: http://www.openvox.cn/products/show.php?itemid=20&lang=2

can you ping your vicidial server from the computer that attempted to surf to it?

vicidial supports all asterisk trunks. have you made the trunk work in asterisk?

Go to another computer on the same network.

Load FireFox, IE, Opera, etc.

In the address bar, go to http://-my_ip-/vicidial/welcome.php

Enjoy

remember that vicidial runs IN asterisk. vicidial doesn't support or unsupport specific trunk types, that's asterisk.

sort of like asking if Microsoft Word supports Western Digital Hard drives for document storage.

Now, whether any Vicidial users have used OpenVOX, that's worth asking, but Asterisk is a much larger community and that's also where the drivers would be ... soooo...
