Hi gardo, hope i'm not stepping on any toes, but i gotta:

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method, vicidial version and build, asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box.

Similar to This:
Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X Build XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

and have you read the script for admin update server ip in /usr/share/astguiclient? (it has an interesting purpose)

ok, gardo, back to you! :)

So, here's my problem. I installed the Go Autodial ISO and the default IP is 192.168.1.2. I correctly forwarded port 80 and the port for SSH and it was working just great. Now, suddenly, I can't get access to the server outside the network.

I can access it at 192.168.1.2 inside the network but outside I can no longer find it.

And, when I pout port 80 at another server on the network it publishes just fine. Any ideas??

1) you are required to post your specifications for your system. it's part of the agreement to get the free help! please do so on ALL your posts from now on. (at least the version of the iso you installed from AND the vicidial version/build AND the asterisk version!!)

2) welcome to the club of Vicidial users!

3) the question you have asked is a purely linux question not really related to vicidial itself or even goautodial for that matter ...

4) however: what did you set your gateway to for your server? does it make calls? can it "ping" www.irs.gov? (ping www.irs.gov -c 2)

post your network settings and the settings you changed in your router (leave off the FIRST TWO sets of digits for any ip addresses, often the LAST digits are significant and hide the flaw, for instance the broadcast setting)

also post the method you used to change these settings (often the method of making the change, the location of the files, can cause confusion, as some settings can be made in more than one place)

When I originally tried to post all of the configuration settings I'm told I can't post it for 5 days. I guess I don't understand why. I'm trying every way possible to enter this information in a way the forum will let me.

I have installed GoAutodial CE 2.0. It installs: Vicidial 2.2.1, Asterisk 1.4.27.1-vici, Dahdi 2.3, VtigerCRM 5.1.0, Sangoma 3.5.14, CentOS 5.5.

I appreciate the welcome and I appreciate the quick response. Thank you!

My router settings are:

IP Address : 192.168.15.2
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway : 192.168.15.1
Primary DNS Server : xxx.xxx.232.200
Secondary DNS Server xxx.xxx.234.200
Advanced DNS : Enabled

I haven't changed the default IP address for GoAutodial. It is still 192.168.1.2.

I cannot ping websites. But, I have port 80 and 22 open and pointed at 192.168.1.2. I have ports 3389 and 21 open and pointed to a windows 2008 enterprise server on the same network.

It was working fine and then I changed the admin password in Vicidial and it didn't take. So, I decided to reinstall the OS and that's when it stopped working.

Again, I can find it inside of the internal network but I cannot outside.

if you cannot ping websites, one of your network settings is wrong or not recording properly (wrong place) OR your router is blocking you or your dns server refuses to respond to you. but if you cannot get in from the outside, it's not likely dns (although that could be ANOTHER problem).

if you have a computer capable of DHCP inside the network, verify that IT can ping the world (ping in windows is just "ping www.irs.gov" at the command line :) ) then if it works, check the settings that computer received from its DHCP server and compare.

It ended being that both my router and my modem were giving me a default gateway that were in conflict.

Thank you for helping me see this. The DHCP showed me what was going on.

you can bet i spent a while on figuring that out the first time it happened. LOL

it's even more fun when you get a really cool router capable of handling multiple ip addresses and you accidentally put your external ips for your asterisk server on one ip address but route SIP (5060) through a different IP address. freaks out your providers and not all that easy to find when debugging. but fun, yes very fun.
