Audio Chooser for remote agent

Postby chrisnetronix » Thu Sep 30, 2010 7:18 am

in the external extension field in the remote agent area, what can i put to let it use a uploaded audio file from the audio chooser?

the reason why i say this is becuase the audio upload feature creates a separate folder in the htdocs area, and I am not sure how to let the remote agent use that audio file.

What kind of campaign is this?

Is this for inbound or outbound?

Does this campaign have real agents too?

Chrisnetronix,

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and OS with kernel or version, vicidial version and build, asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box.

Similar to This:
Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X Build XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)
__

So you want to play a message instead of having the call go to a Live Agent? Have you looked at "Survey"?

Vicidial 2.4-278 Build 100901-2055 | Asterisk 1.4.21.2 | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation

I basically need to setup a part for voice broadcasting that needs to apply the vb campaign and audio file based on the user applying it, i have no problem making the mysql db to associate a filename with the user id info I just need a way to assign the audio file name to the user where the remote agent area knows to use the users specific audio folder based the specifications I make when creating the folder ( like audio chooser does when a user crates one )

well, I create a user, that user creates a remote agent, yet they can use a recorded message based on the users personal audio chooser folder, i need the remote agent to be able to use the audio from their own personal audio folder and apply it to the voice broadcast instead of extensions.conf applying the 851XXXXX

Of course you know that the Remote Agent does not get the call until AFTER someone has pressed ONE (or some other number) while listening to the recording ... right?

(What this means is: the recording plays, the prospect presses a digit, THEN the call is sent to a remote agent ... and at this point you want to play another recording instead of having it go to the agent?)

So your goal is to play a custom recording upon "opt-in".

Your method of doing this is to send the call to a Remote Agent and have the Remote Agent play the custom recording (based on which Remote Agent is chosen by the system or assigned by you). But the system at that point doesn't have "numbers" that you can play the custom audio from, it's in the agent's folder instead which doesn't help you.

Have you looked at Survey Opt-in Audio File?

What happens to the call after this audio file is played when you get it working?

do you want to transfer to an agent or play an audio file from the audio chooser?

agents have extensions. audio files are files chosen from from a menu.

audio files do not have extensions unless you build one for each.

what i don't get is how you expect there to be a "decision making process" of some sort involved here. if the system will play a message and hang up, it will ALWAYS play THE SAME message and hang up. since there is no agent, the non-existent agent will never be "busy" and require that some other agent be sent to. "messages" aren't busy, they are always available so there's only ONE.

ya lost me. :)

What is the "remote agent area"?

You set this up in CampaignXXX->Details->Survey.

You use "remote agents" to activate it (since you have no real agents and just want to play a message), but since you'll be playing yet another message and hanging up, no remote agent will ever get a call.

So remote agents are merely your method of determining the number of lines being used.

Audio will first play because of the survey allowing the prospect to make a choice, then another audio will be played based on opt-in or opt-out, then the opt-in/opt-out actions will be taken ... but since you have no actual agents those actions will be "hang up" because you've already played two messages and reached your goal.

What's missing?

in the manual, to setup;

I. Set up an auto-dial campaign to dial without any live agents and play a
message

I have done this.

so you are telling me I can do the survey part in the campaigns to use specific audio files aka

the campaign handles the message played and the remote agent does not, i am not sure i understand this, please explain

The remote agent's purpose is merely to give you a "switch" to turn on/off the campaign. They never actually get a call, they serve NO other purpose unless you want them to actually talk to someone.

In your campaign, choose "Detail View" (top menu)

then Choose "Survey" (also top menu, but not available until after you choose Detail View)

(then read the manual some more) :)

the external extension field needs an audio chooser link

external extension is not an audio file field, unless you use the 851XXXXX audio files generated by dialing in to 8168.

It is usually easier to set up broadcast campaigns using the Survey options, even if you do not use the DTMF options.
