it seems your error was here..
for the first telephony server you must answer 'n' otherwise you run the wrong insert sql script that conflicts with temporary "TESTast" entry in the db

Ahhh, yeah. That would do it. Matt has "TestAST" as the server name in all his SQL files. The first telephony server is the primary, and then the second onward would be the additional servers. That's why the instructions say you HAVE to install the telephony servers one at a time, with the primary being first.

That's on the list of feature adds for version 3.1. The installer will sed the SQL file and change the name and IP to the correct one. That will happen when Matt starts the whole RC process for 2.4. Until then it is the way it is unless someone wants to sponsor that change.

Knew it had to be something simple since I was having one hell of a time trying to duplicating it. Guess it's one of those cases where you can't see the forest for all the tree's.

The funny thing is that, as reported before, the Database Schema is empty again. Will running \. /usr/src/astguiclient/trunk/extras/upgrade_2.4.sql after I installed all the dialers fix the problem without breaking anything? I will cry if I have to reinstall everything again!

Also, I left the DB username as cron and password 1234 but when I do a mysql -p the password 1234 is incorrect - I have to leave the password open.

if your database schema is empty again, you should cry and reinstall. if there are other problems ... you could easily spend a week trying to fix them.

but before you do, go over the vicibox install log and try to find an error statement or "irregularity".

To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:

/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h 127.0.0.2
192.168.0.236 password 'new-password'

Alternatively you can run:
/usr/bin/mysql_secure_installation

which will also give you the option of removing the test
databases and anonymous user created by default. This is
strongly recommended for production servers.

You can start the MySQL daemon with:
rcmysql start

You can test the MySQL daemon with mysql-test package

Please report any problems with the /usr/bin/mysqlbug script!

if you answered your install quiz correctly, that's a bad thing. kumba would likely have bumped into it earlier, though. so ... can you post your installation quiz?

I kept all the defaults EXACTLY as is and just entered through all of them. All I changed were the FTP and Report servers' IP's, usernames and passwords. Obviously I am doing something weird again because I get this exact problem using both 3.0.7 and 3.0.8 distros.
