Problem with vicidial list loader

Postby albokos » Sat Feb 19, 2011 8:12 pm

I have setted up a vicidial box from scratch for a client i'am experiencing some problem with the old vicidial list loader. the fact is that when list are loaded some informations are stripped especially the address field. for example: the address
123 Nowhere road
is printed
123
on the vicidial agent interface. the only way i found to fix this is to remove all the spaces from the address string, but it doesn't work all the time. I have also noticed that with some leads extractor the problem does not occure but with others it just happened systematically. Need some help on this.

Version 2.4-276
Build 100823-1501
OS: Debian 5.0

1) Install with Vicibox Redux!

2) What format is the file you are uploading?

3) Are you using "standard" or "custom"?

If you are using csv, try tab delimited. If you are using custom, try standard. If you want to use standard, you need to save the file with the correct 23 fields in the correct order. Push the (?) help button next to "browse" when you are about to upload your leads, this will show you the list of the 23 fields and their order.

i've tried with with the standard form and it just does nothing. i mean when i browse to my file and submit the request the page just return to the same as if i did nothing. It only work when i use th custom format. then i'm taken to the mapping page. I mapped all the field with their value in my xls file and submit it. the leads are loaded and then i downloaded the list from the admin interface and found that the adresses and the names are still stripped.

Please help.

I'll try with csv again

perhaps you should try vicibox redux and see if the problem is your installation (put it on a VMWareinstall just for testing)

I will. but the thing i find very strange is that the problem occurs with files from certains extractors and does not with others. i'm suspecting a problem with the database configuration. what do you think?

Thanks for the help. if someone have an idea you are welcome.

it could be in any one of a hundred places. if you want to debug it, you'll need to turn on debug and watch the process happen.

I've finally figured out what was going wrong. The lists i was loading was "corrupted" (that explain why it works with some and not with others). I mean the list loader systematically stripped every strings after the space in my address column but the thing was that the "space" was not really a space. so what i did is to delete it and replace it with a real space and it just work fine now. ope this will help someone.

Thanks to all of you who helped me
