Gardo , can you kindly guide us , which Intel Original MotherBoards , are supported , with GoAutoDial ?

Any list or any special feature of MotherBoard that is Bound to Support GoAutoDial , so that before buying MotherBoard, we are sure that it will work ?

{ Which MotherBoards and Processors you have Tried ? }

Not to speak for Gardo, of course, but there is no magic pill for "it will work" except one at a time trying them.

drivers exist or they don't.

drivers are not marked "i work for this motherboard", so it can't be reversed, either.

everyone listing the motherboards they are using can assist in this, but let me assure you from my Gentoo days (everything is compiled, every driver loaded manually), without actually using the motherboard, it is virtually impossible to guarantee a specific driver vs motherboard match.

however: if you DO find a way to guarantee a match, you let us know how and we'll pair up a few easy to acquire motherboards with their drivers!

Just make sure that the hardware you're using is supported by RedHat. Always ask your vendor.

And be sure to find out WHEN it was supported by Redhat (as GoAutoDial was distributed on a specific date, it's not being live updated every week or anything, so if the support for Redhat happened AFTER that date ... well, ...)

Gardo: is it possible to issue weekly/monthly updates of GoAutodial (no changes to software, JUST updated OS with drivers ...)?

i thought you were LOOKING for a supported motherboard, not that you HAVE one and it doesn't work.
gmcust3 wrote:Anyone Tried I7 or I5 Processor ?

ordinarily the motherboards themselves aren't the actual issue. it's the chipset that controls necessary peripherals. such as NIC and/or drives. often if you find out which one isn't working, you can purchase a suitable replacement and use that instead of the one on the motherboard (ie: if the NIC is what's not compatible, buy another NIC and pop it in).

have you tried this $450 motherboard with Vicibox?

Also: WHO pays $450 for a MOTHERBOARD? Wow. I hope that was a combo unit and you got a Processor with it (in which case that would explain why you were looking for only a motherboard, keeping the processor and just getting a new mbd would mitigate losses).

Extremely Sorry for the Confusion Created.

I already have bought Intel® Server Board S3420GPV { thought it would work , Hard to believe that RedHat wont get supported in S3420GPV. I hope is that Intelligent to make S3420GPV enable for all OS before launching it}

1) I have Tried Vicibox Redux ( SuSe) But While os-install, it gave me Kernel Panic. May be " As I am NOT very conversant with ViciBox SuSe.

2) Myself paid for the MotherBoard and Processor. I don't want to change MotherBoard and Change the Processor as Its an Integrated part. I MAY use this server for my personal use but trying to avoid it by trying to INSTALL the Vici.

3) Now, I am ready to Buy QuadCore Processor with DG41CN ( Only 4 GB ddr3 Ram Support max )but not sure whether that will work or not again. But market and intel is getting update so fast that , In India , QuadCore Processor is getting Replaced by "i" series processors.

Have you tried installing CentOS (stock, not GoAutoDial)? After all, as I said earlier, if drivers for CentOS/Redhat came out the day after Gardo made the GoAutoDial .iso ... you missed the boat. However, that is not to say you could not quickly learn to take HIS .iso, and create a new one that does exactly the same thing but with the newer drivers (just pray there are no fresh compatibility issues that crop up).

Also: Did you try the Vicibox Redux 32 or 64 bit (I suggest both!) and have you tried 3.0.8? (which is very recent)

Failing that, of course, you still have scratch install available to you IF you can find an .iso linux installer that will put the OS on before you begin (preferably in OpenSuSE, Ubuntu, or even Gentoo, but Gentoo is tricky).

Tried 3.0.8.

Didn't Try the CentOS as I am NOT very literate about Linux. Its Just that I need to operate and Run Vici, I am learning Linux part by part.

Did you try both 32 bit and 64 bit of 3.0.8 Redux? (64 bit drivers are notorious for coming out late, but sometimes they are just different, depends on the guys making the drivers)

Try Ubuntu Live CD installation. Not entirely complex, and could be the basis for a scratch installation run (directions are online :)).

If the publish date is over a year old, the odds are very good. If the publish date is over 3 months old it is 50:50. But the only way to KNOW is to find someone who has one and is using GoAutoDial/Vicibox.

you may be waiting for a long time. very few people have posted their motherboard models, i'd be willing to bet that 95% of the users of Vicidial do not KNOW the model# of their motherboard.

define for me, if you will, the difference between "desktop grade" and "server grade" as it pertains to "someone has successfully installed vicidial onto it!"

all we can do is list the ones that HAVE installed successfully. remember that "latest greatest" is often "overfreakin priced". if you add "server-grade" to "overfreakin priced", i'm not surprised really that there are not a lot of installs, and none yet posted, for installation onto a corei7 server grade board.

so far. 8)

? Tried? (as in "and failed"?)

that's a valuable piece of information ... if you posted the model number but not the result ... some poor schmuck could assume you posted the model number because it worked and invest a fairly hefty sum in a system with that mbd and be sorely disappointed.

besides which: why on earth are you tring to install vNow1.3 when it's so old the Vicidial in it is no longer even supported? way old software.
