use internet explorer instead. switch to firefox after you find out what it is. (i suggest google for this purpose).

if you do not know what internet explorer is ... there may be no help for you 8)

you don't.

goautodial is managed with firefox REMOTELY. it is an apache (web) server. you do not run a web CLIENT on it. just server.

have you followed through the getting started guide? if so, where are you (page and line) so we can help you finish 8)

there is no "GUI mode". it's a linux server, which has only command line on the server directly. You are not expected to "log in" directly to the server after it has been set up. Most linux servers are almost never touched directly after setup (many are never touched directly at all because they are located in a remote facility and never even seen by their owners!)

firefox is a web browser you will load onto YOUR desktop machine (but is not required, you may use Internet Explorer).

You will use internet explorer or firefox to browse to the IP address of your vicidial server.

Is this not covered in the getting started guide?

Thank you...

You mean I need not to do anything on server machine? I have to do all kind configuration on client machine? How can I know the IP address of server machine and how can I make the network for windows clients?? can I test it on Virtual Machine???

These things are not covered in the getting started guide..

I m sorry if I m wasting ur time...

Thanks :)

You will perform some tasks on the server in command line mode (unless you install software to allow these tasks remotely).

you will need to acquire the IP of the server, and it is recommended that you "hard code" the ip address so it does not change.

for instance: to get the IP address you can query your router (after all, it likely assigned the IP address in the first place!). you can enter "ifconfig" at the command line. you can install webmin and use the webmin interface to acquire the IP address. you can use yast (if the installation is Vicibox Redux from vicibox.com) to acquire the ip address.

YES: I highly recommend a VMware installation to test out the system and play with it. Do not put more than one agent on a VMware install, but it is excellent for that very purpose.

1) Go to "GoAutoDial.com"

2) Click on "Wiki" at the top

3) Click on "Getting Started Guide"

4) Send an email to Gardo asking very nicely to place a link to "Getting Started Guide" very obviously on the home page 8)
