Upgrade from 3.1.9 to 3.1.10 + Hardware requirements

Postby friendlysol » Thu May 19, 2011 9:24 pm

I need someone to point me in the right direction on upgrading from 3.1.9 to 3.1.10 please.

Also, for one server, what would be the ideal specifications for 50 agents ?

I have the following in mind:
2x Intel E5620 4C/8T 2.40Ghz 12mb Cache 5.86QPI 80w 1066-DDR3k
6x 4GB DDR3 x8 1333MHz ECC Reg
1x RAID 9265-8i 2-pt SAS2 1G Dual Core SGL
1x LSIiBBU09 BBU for 9265 controllerse SGL
2x Seagate ST3300657SS Seagate 300GBre SGL SAS2 16MB 15K
1x big drive for recordings

Optional:
Another 2 drives for raid 10 instead of raid 1

Would this cover it ?

You cannot upgrade from 3.1.9 to 3.1.10. You will have to reinstall with the Vicibox 3.1.10 cd if you are adamant that you want that version. Why do you want to upgrade?

I am not the right person to give advice on the hardware but it has been discussed MANY times before so a search in the forum should sort you out.

We are experiencing two issues:

- agents go into automatic pause, and can't unpause unless the logout. But after a few minutes they will get paused again.
- agents get calls while they are still dis positioning the previous call

that is not a flaw in Vicidial. that is a bad network connection and/or overloaded system.

There is no "stock" setup for 50 users. Since the number of calls you make per agent and many other factors can affect your setup.

That being said, 25 agents per dialer is the "rule of thumb" and adding a decent mysql server with RAID10 and 15K SAS drives in addition to a decent web box ...

DO NOT try to fit this all on one box to "avoid" clustering. That way lies madness. 8)

So I will keep the current box as web, and make the new one the mysql server. That being said - is the processor on the box above, decent enough ?
